It's your house. Do whatever you want.

BaublesandBangles · 26/12/2022 16:50

Why are you asking? You can do whatever you want in your own home.

Ivalueloyaltyaboveallelse · 26/12/2022 16:56

I’m taking mine down tomorrow. But only because of our very annoying cat. I don’t want her to break anymore of our glass baubles. It’s been pretty stressful keeping her out of it this year. Hopefully she will be calmer next year, maybe? However i do like my decorations down before New Year’s Eve anyway.

TheYummyPatler · 26/12/2022 17:00

Ah, Boxing Day. So MN is full of threads about taking the tree down and reclaiming the living room.

It’s your house, your tree… take it down… leave it up til march… make it a permanent feature… Whatever you like really.

HPandTheNeverEndingBedtime · 26/12/2022 17:01

I didnt put one up this year as last year one of our cats climbed it and kept eating through the bauble strings and chewing on the tinsel. At DDs suggestion we strung the lights on our bookcase because "wood is just a dead tree anyway". and we have one of these We also live in a small home and actually all the Christmas decorations can be overwhelming and Ive definitely taken the tree down on boxing day before.

Its your house. Your christmas. You dont have to have a full on Hallmark Christmas if it doesnt work for you.

AkoraEdelherb · 26/12/2022 17:02

Not where I’m from, 6th January at the earliest Xmas Grin

But it’s your life, your house, your decision. Take it down if you want.

Craftycorvid · 26/12/2022 17:15

Completely ‘wrong’ for me - no earlier than Jan’ 6th is the rule. That said, if you want to take it down, it’s your call.

Olivia199 · 26/12/2022 17:16

Mines just gone... I love it for a short time but three cats and a toddler. Man I'm over that tree! Plus, gotta make space for our new play kitchen!

CambsAlways · 26/12/2022 17:18

You take the lot down when you want to surely.

CornishTiger · 26/12/2022 17:18

I’m over mine already but I will resist. I do like it up for New Year’s Eve. I took it down early one year and I did regret it.

I did mumble something about taking it down yesterday…..

Sushiii · 26/12/2022 17:23

I never got around to putting any decorations or a tree up, so I’d say anything goes 😁

mg2397 · 26/12/2022 18:47

Been thinking the exact same thing, just don't have the space and can't get anything done with it there. Maybe tomorrow...

fancyacuppatea · 26/12/2022 18:49

I was going to take ours down this morning, but DH wants to keep it up to NY.

DappledThings · 26/12/2022 19:49

When I'm created Dictator of the World nobody will be allowed to take decorations down before Twelfth Night or next year they aren't allowed to put them up at all.

Sadly as that hasn't happened yet knock yourself out!

Cuwins · 26/12/2022 21:21

Ours still has presents under it! But if you feel better taking it down then do it. Ours will come down New Year's Day at the latest but maybe before that if the newly crawling baby discovers it!
