Sending toys to Santa?

I didn't realise this is a thing?
If a child sees something they want the parent buys it to send it to santa who then brings it for Christmas?
Someone told me that's what they always did, I googled it and seems quite common thing.
Do any of you mn do this?

I don't, all presents are from Santa, I don't buy my children any (they know family presents are from them though).

We do. Santa the delivery service 😂

BiasedBinding · 25/12/2022 08:21

I don’t but I have heard of it before. No big deal, different families do things differently.

Notonyournellykelly · 25/12/2022 08:28

We have to pay for them but Santa builds them. This is because DC couldn't understand why they couldn't have £300+ presents (one present costing that) when some of their friends got them, while some friends get smaller things than ours. So we say that it depends how much money your parents have (because that's true)

We had it that Santa buys/makes/brings the presents but we pay for them. We never sent them to him

No, never heard of anyone doing that. Or Santa bringing presents that parents buy. It seems a bit mercenary/transactional. For us, Santa only brings very small presents in stockings, nothing big or expensive. Any main present is from parents.
