Kiddy cuteness at Christmas.

I think Christmas is so magical for young children.

My own ds is 18 now and is autistic so he has lived routines and traditions over the years.

This evening we were heading out about 5pm and 2 mums and their kids (prob about 3) were leaving the park opposite us. It's completely dark and one of the kids had a torch.

He was saying really loudly and so cutely "where are you Santa? I can't see you? Are you up there yet? I'm going home to bed now so you can come out as I'll be asleep"

Me and ds were giggling to ourselves as it was cuteness magnified.

Something tells me that kid will NOT be sleeping well tonight 🤣

Ah, that’s so sweet. Mine are older now and I miss their excitement and all the toys!

That's so lovely OP!

When we were kids me and my siblings could hear the bells on the sleigh, when looking out the window before bed. there were no bells. Last year I went to my DB to celebrate on boxing day and my nephew kept going up to bed because everytime he went to bed Santa came and dropped off more presents and his little excited face running up and down stairs with the pure joy on his face

Little children are cuteness personified at Christmas, but big lanky teens and the way they can hang onto a tradition... oh my heart. We were just watching Christmas with the Kranks and I said to DS17 'ooh shall we go on a cruise next Christmas?' And he just gestured at the Christmas tree and went - and not have this?

Readers, this is a very ordinary plastic Tesco Christmas tree that I've felt too guilty to bin (bc it will never decompose) with some gaudy baubles and a string of lights and a wee pile of presents. But it's this. Merry Christmas vipers!

When my son was little we always used Portable North Pole for messages and videos from Santa. One year Santa rang to speak to him, I will never forget his little face when he realised he was talking to Santa. It was obviously pre recorded but he even said his name, his face lit up in amazement, I will never forget that moment.

Well I asked DD(3) what would be in her stocking when she woke up. She said, very seriously, ‘a brick’ 😳 is this the Christmas version of a snooker ball in a sock?!

itsgettingweird · 25/12/2022 06:32

A brick 🤣🤣

That's probably 3yo thinking for something like duplo?!

These are all so sweet. I live the innocence of children and their complete awe in the magic. It reminds us they'll be happy with a few toys and the traditions.

That’s so cute!
We went to a Christmas lights trail last night and my 4 year old insisted the coloured trees weren’t because of lights, they were because of Christmas magic! 🥰

itsgettingweird · 25/12/2022 06:56

Awww - he'll remember Santa touching him for such a long time. Kids are brilliant.

I like the magic trees.
