Xmas Smile If anyone's after a bit of a de-stress, I can highly recommend browsing the Christmas Eve #duvetknowitschristmas tag (any donations welcome to Centrepoint homeless charity)

Is hilarious.

Photos of weird and wonderful festive sleeping arrangements at friends/family:
hulking adults crammed into kids' bunk beds; inflatable mattress and a snowman duvet in the tool shed; scary china doll collections lit by green fairy lights etc. etc.

It gains momentum as more and more arrive at their destinations this evening.

Enjoy!

My son is tucked under the dining room table on one side and my MiL's currently empty bed.(he's 6'5 square) and wouldn't fit on the bed.
When we were kids I remember 4 girls having to squeeze into my cousin's room, my parents in the boys room, can't remember where the boys were

Oh I love this every year!

Once shared a bed with dgm with dd on a camp bed and ds in a travel cot.. The camp bed folded up with dd in.. She ended up in the bed with us! She still remembers and it was 25 years ago!!

DS is also under the dining table on a blow up bed.

Love all yours!

My oddest to date was a houseful of relatives crammed into a small flat: I, then an angsty 12 year old, drew the short straw for the floor. Ended up on a half-deflating lilo, between twin beds containing a snoring Great Aunt on one side, and a bewildered French exchange student on the other.

My boyfriend claims he was made to make do with a sleeping bag in the bath, as a teenager, but I'm pretty sure that's an urban myth.

Thank you for this post. I'm ill with a chest infection and scrolling through these has cheered me up so much! @KaftanKate

Known round these parts as a 'shakeydown'

@pastacaring, oh you poor thing. That's really miserable. Hope you're soon on the mend.

Thank you! I could not remember the hashtag!

Some positive and uplifting news: everyone who took part in this year's #duvetknowitschristmas together raised over £56k for Centrepoint!

Great effort, everyone.
And all the best for 2023 to you and yours.

My boyfriend claims he was made to make do with a sleeping bag in the bath, as a teenager,

One of my sisters and I had a shelf in the airing cupboard apiece while we were small enough to do a foetal curl and fit on a shelf. One of the few times that I ever felt warm as we turned the immersion heater on for visitors which made the cupboard very cosy.

We used to hold family parties at our parents 4 bed house and as the hosts we would give up our beds and sleep in our caravan. Gran and Grandad had my parents room; aunt, uncle and 2 cousins in my sisters room, another aunt , uncle and 2 cousins in my other sisters room, 2 great aunts in my room and my adult cousin and his girlfriend on the living room floor.
We outdid it this year with a stay over at SIL house. 14 in her house, 2 motorhomes in the drive (5 people) and a tent on the lawn.
