Vacuum packed chestnuts out of date- use?

Best before end August? Chance it or bin?!

They should be OK if you use them immediately the fact that they've been vacuum packed means that there been no chance to spoil. Just smell them first

Was going to shack some in sprouts tomorrow so will open then and it's not drastic if I don't use them

I would sniff and use. My Christmas pudding has a use by March 2017 and is fine, especially soaked in extra brandy!
