Just a plum and apple crumble - for once we are not hosting so I can relax a bit but I did promise to bring pudding.

sycamorescrumptious · 23/12/2022 22:03

The veg pie for main and all the side veg (cold water for the sprouts etc and par roasting the potatoes/parsnips).

WillowintheUK · 23/12/2022 22:38

Cooking a ham and chicken, preparing potatoes, cauliflower and sprouts. Starting the dough for doughnuts and dinner rolls. Starter is tomato soup which is cooked and frozen, rolls to go with it. Anything else I think of that can be prepped in advance. The meats are to cover both days - just us on Christmas, 17 here on Monday.

Rainbowhoney · 23/12/2022 22:56

Red cabbage in the slow cooker, peel veg, make stuffing balls and make the brocoli cheese

Dontfuckingsaycheese · 23/12/2022 22:56

So. Everyone leaving their veg in cold water. Is this preferable to popping in bags in fridge? From experience I know I can’t do this with potatoes (they get a weird gray bloom on them but we still ate them) but I thought carrots and parsnips coped ok and was also the planning on doing this with Brussels.

Dontfuckingsaycheese · 23/12/2022 23:01

I pre-prepared and froze stuffing, cauliflower cheese and roasties. First two coming out to defrost tomorrow morning. Roasties I’ll do from frozen. Frozen turkey crown came out and has been sat in fridge since this morning. Still feels rock hard 😳

Lysianthus · 23/12/2022 23:01

Cutting carrot batons so that we can pretend to be healthy while gorging on Christmas Eve party food which mostly is a carb fest. Merry Christmas everyone!

Dontfuckingsaycheese · 23/12/2022 23:02

Oh and I’ll be making the Platinum Jubilee lemon and amaretti trifle back by popular request by my family ❤️

OhYouBadBadKitten · 23/12/2022 23:06

I don’t leave any veg in water, especially potatoes. I put it all in airtight containers.

SquigglePigs · 23/12/2022 23:09

Prepping veg and potatoes. Also sauce for cauliflower cheese. Pate is already made (by DM). Waitrose made the fish platter starter!

Logicalreasoning · 23/12/2022 23:11

Cook the gammon, prep the veggies and potatoes, make the cheese sauce for cauliflower cheese, make the yorkies.
