I'd like to say it was a child's attempt but my dh has never made one before and was eager to give it a go. The icing was definitely too thin and everything went downhill from there. Other people's pipework skills are insane though!

Not the point of the thread but do they actually get eaten? Or looked at ? Or just made and that's it?

They look great but not sure if the point- it's not like a chocolate log where you have a slice with cup of tea.

Can't take the credit this was my son and his girlfriend's alternative gingerbread structure . All made from scratch

They got bored, so the sides aren't decorated. They are more into the eating!

How do people keep gingerbread structures from going soggy? Even my largest cake box is too low for the roof and if you don't have in an airtight box they go soft.
