What am I forgetting in my big Christmas food shop?!?

Food delivery tomorrow, I have the main bits (I think!) but what am I forgetting?! Trying to think what we will need to best enjoy leftovers on Boxing Day too…

Oh no @RitaSueandBobtwo, I hope you all feel better soon. We all came down with something horrible about a month ago, which probably means we are due our next dose of something soon too!

@Passthecake30 bang on, I didn’t have anything for the next few days until about 5 minutes ago! So focussed on the couple of days!

And I know shops will be open, I really just want to get ‘the shop’ out of the way though and not need to go again. Our house is pretty remote, so I just want to get cosy and be ready for our guests and ourselves through those few days. These are all great suggestions - thank you!

Salad for when all the rich food gets too much

Nice soft bread rolls for leftover sandwiches

Oh no, that's me.

Eggs, milk, bread, fruit and earplugs

White bread for the bread sauce, streaky bacon for the pigs in blankets, cranberries for the sauce, oranges, lemons, mixers for drinks. I think I've forgotten all of those over the years!

Bread sauce, cranberry sauce, cream (or custard) for desserts, enough wine? Stuff to nibble on with leftovers that night. Parsnips?

Sorry I tend to sometimes forget the mundane everyday stuff

Those part baked rolls / baguettes so you can heat them up on Boxing day and put all the leftovers in (with Brie and cranberry sauce). And then put it all in foil and back in the oven for a bit so the brie melts. You are welcome.

Who forgets the most important thing???

Make sure you know the location of your nearest convenience shop, eg garage with a Spar or whatever, someone invariably has to dash out on boxing day.

Proper crisps, not Pringles, essential for a Turkey and crisp sandwich, with white bread that I only ever eat on Christmas Day and Boxing Day, with real Anchor butter !

Branson pickle for bubble and squeak, smoked salmon for breakfast, twice as much wine as you initially thought- just my family?

you have never had corn relish !!! It is for for sandwiches yes. I love it.

I remembered bisto earlier. I've now just remembered I've forgotten about some pickles my mum likes to give as gifts. Excellent thread!
