We cook the ham the day before or maybe even 2 days before and have that cold.

I slice it, drizzle over gravy and heat up in the oven.

In a slow cooker on high for an hour in the juices from the bottom of the cooking tin. No where else to fit it in to heat up.

I slice it, drizzle over gravy and heat up in the oven.

This is how we do it from Boxing Day onwards. In a casserole dish for an hour on medium heat.
Occasionally we just plate up what people want and zap it in the microwave.

I cook meat on the day, reheated meat doesn't taste as good.

A caterer's trick is to slice the chilled meat thinly, allow to come to room temperature, plate on a hot dinner plate, pour over boiling hot gravy, serve immediately!

I'm not a fan of precooked reheated meat, and would always cook the turkey or joint on the day. But I suppose if you are catering for a large number of guests, cooking the day before makes Christmas Day less stressful, even if also less tasty. Wine Wine

I cook the meat first thing on Christmas morning. I don’t fully cook it, and wrap it in several layers of foil to keep warm. A big joint of beef will stay warm for several hours. As others have said, hot plates and steaming hot gravy are your friend.
