I've gone for some books and scarf/gloves as DD has plenty of PJ's and socks already.
Doesn't like hot chocolate either so have popped in a box of Turkish delight as a treat.
My Mum and I always used to pick and unwrap one present on Christmas Eve so I quite like the concept of opening some presents the day before.

Traditionally xmas eve was set up for gifting books during WW2 so a book is the crux of the tradition.

PJs where added to that tradition and have been going strong since the 50s/60s.

Logically most people now add things 'needed' for bed time like toothbrush, toiletries, snacks etc... because it just makes sense

Some people like to add reusables like santa key/plate/sign etc... as family traditions

I struggle to think of what else you could add that would still serve the purpose though.
