Recipe for streusel-topped mince pies

Last year I made some bloody lovely streusel-topped mince pies from a BBC recipe. I've been so excited to make them again this year and now can't find the darn thing online, and stupidly forgot to write it down.

Can anyone help with a good alternative? Needs to have a nice crispy base and no random ingredients like apricot jam Confused

It's probably not these, but they look bloody delicious

Why not do the bbc one with random apricot jam, and substitute the jam and dried fruit for mincemeat?

There is this that could be adapted maybe?

I was going to suggest it might be this one, which I make most years (though don't always bother with the syrup from a jar of stem ginger and they still turn out fine)

Thanks, I think this one sounds the closest to the one I made, without the ginger. Maybe it wasn't a BBC recipe after all, but I don't want to fall down a rabbit hole looking so will try this! Smile

@MargotMoon you're not going crazy, I've made those for the last few years and it has disappeared

NCnora · 19/12/2024 09:00

@MargotMoon did you ever find that recipe?

No, and I was just thinking about it as going to make some mince pies at the weekend!

This one looks pretty straightforward so might give that a go: https://bakingwithgranny.co.uk/recipe/crumble-top-mince-pies/

The one I had involved sort of pressing blobs of dough into the bun holes of the tin rather than rolling and cutting - it made the bottoms really crispy. So I’ll try that
