I would ask the parents to avoid something they already have or something the parents are gifting.

I have a three year old and I've been suggesting items of clothing to relatives that I'm short of as DS has a mountain of toys already and loads to come!

We're getting my dds (4 and 2) the melissa and doug ice cream counter. It gets great reviews. But I second what @Skyeheather says too - double check with the parents to make sure they've not got the same.

My daughter is 3.5 and is really into kid versions of household stuff. She really wants a Minnie mouse watch. Loves torches and umbrellas. She also really likes Usborne sticker books, role play/dress up kits, board games like hungry hungry hippos, orchard games - tummy ache, smelly wellies, unicorn rainbows are all big hits. Kinetic sand, crafting - especially stamps. Small jewelry box - like those ones you open and they play music and a little ballerina turns around. Star projector for the ceiling.

Actually OP, I've just seem your budget. The ice cream set is more than £30.

My daughter is 3 and loves anything to do with building, creative, role play or puzzles. So anything to do with blocks/Lego/Duplo, arts and crafts, jigsaws, and so on.

Melissa and Doug, and Galt do some lovely things. We also buy a lot of Jacques of London stuff and it comes beautiful boxed up so great for a gift.

I would also say this! I've told people to gift our 3 year old cash if they don't mind then we can put it in her bank account or use it to book a day out/event for her. I can't stand the house full of toys she doesn't want/won't play with.

My daughter likes the peppa pig toy sets and the paw patrol toys.
Also play doh, Duplo, puzzles, bath toys, Melissa and Doug wooden toys.
I would check with her parents though as we’ve got my DD a lot of toys from Santa for Christmas so we’ve asked family to get her clothes/ gift cards.

Washable paint palette and coloured paper. DD is very keen on that, should be in budget.

I second Jacques of London, they do some great gifts which come wrapped.
My three year old has the Ferris wheel toy from Jacques and nephew has the car garage toy. Both a hit. There travel doodle pad is also a hit with both my girls.

Newuser82 · 11/12/2022 17:31

A costume of some sort? Play doh, paints and paper, a game like hungry hippos or an orchard toys game, some schleich figures.

Flubadubba · 11/12/2022 18:04

My 3 year old likes unicorns, Play doh, craft stuff, sticking, cuddly toys, lego, the games that Orchard toys do, dressing up, Paw Patrol, days out, baking...

The little learner does this really nice learning book you can personalised child's name. It has matching games, learning how to count, write numbers and words like their own name. My DD has just started learning to write her name and she loves it
