It's definitely Christmas now.

But why does it start on the 24th this year?!

Oooh, barely containing excitement here! mine should arrive next week and I'll be highlighting away and turning down pages - PBS America, Smithsonian - because I always forget when there's something on there - and radio, because I'm not a great radio listener and need to remind myself if there's something good on.

I did have a somewhat detailed twitter discussion about this last year - I thought I was the only person who highlighted her RT. Turns out there's a quite a few of us.

Ooh, exciting. Although the sport of it is a little diminished when there aren't three kids, three colour highlighters, only four channels, only one VHS recorder and an hour left on the available tape, and more clashes and careful negotiations required than a un summit to put together a proper schedule. Still, I do feel compelled to get one for the sake of nostalgia.

Because it always starts on a Saturday. If they started the previous Saturday the New Year would be in a separate issue.

I got the previous one yesterday, dated 17th to 23rd, it’s the only way to get the full span due to the way Christmas falls this year.

I sent DH out to pick ours up today. It looks nothing like yours OP and DH was moaning that there isn't a 'film' section as per normal. Now it all makes sense - just realised it only goes up to Dec 23!

Film section has now been changed to come after the daily schedule i.e if a film's on Monday the details will be after Monday's programmes - which I prefer as less flipping to and fro.

I think highlighting the RT is a tradition for lots of us.

As much as a tradition as me failing to watch even half of it. I almost never watch television but my mother used to buy a RT at Christmas and I wasn't allowed to touch it. Now I buy one for the nostalgia and also because I swore I would and let my dc highlight it too.

It's the only time I buy it. I remember the excitement of the Xmas Radio Times and TV Times when I was young and going through it to see what was on. I still love to go through it. This thread has made me realise how much I miss simple things being so exciting. Xmas tv was a big thing.

I’ve been looking for the one for the week before this but can’t find it? The only ones near me are 10th to 16th December.

Is the Motherland Christmas special in there? Or is it being shown before 24th?
