Best £20 present for female ?

It's going to have to be a generic present rather than something bespoke to the person.

I'm thinking, slippers, scarf or maybe a smelly set. I don't think I'd get jewellery for that budget.

Any other ideas up to £20?

For that amount I would appreciate a benefit make up kit, you can get little ones from
Boots for that price, or a Zara perfume or scarf

Sparklybutold · 10/12/2022 07:18

What are her demographics? I ask as I've just posted up for inspiration for a friend who's Muslim. How old is she?

shreddies · 10/12/2022 07:22

An indoor plant in a nice pot. Just about doable

wewishyouamerrychristmas · 10/12/2022 07:39

If she drinks you’d get good Prosecco and chocolate from marks and Spencer for £20.

MachineBee · 10/12/2022 07:40

Smart gloves or mittens.

FormerlySpeckledyHen · 10/12/2022 07:41

Neil’s Yard bath stuff. Nice quality, cruelty free.

Do you know anything about the recipient at all - age, interests, likes and dislikes, allergies, does she drink alcohol?

On the assumption you know nothing about her, John Lewis has a lot of gift food items at around the £20 mark that might give inspiration. This one is three jars of British honey: www.johnlewis.com/the-london-honey-company-british-honey-trio-with-dipper-3x-100g/p6291626

Oooh yes I would be pleased with that.

purplerainlondon · 10/12/2022 08:22

I'd get something like a nice le creuset cup, plant, face roller set, the baking series cook book or a vase?

Consufed · 10/12/2022 08:23

Stationery from Paperchase

MadeForThis · 10/12/2022 08:32

Sienna hoodie blanket.

Justyouwaitandseeagain · 10/12/2022 08:37

Is this an anonymous gift to someone you don't know? If so, I would go for warm socks/scarf, or a nice but normal and good sized bubble bath, and/or nice chocolate.

Fivemoreminutes1 · 10/12/2022 08:37

Sara Miller glass water bottle
Insulated lunch bag - the ones from Beau & Elliot are really nice
Radley foldaway shopper bag
Yankee votive gift set

NCTDN · 10/12/2022 08:40

I wouldn't appreciate Prosecco and chocs Xmas Confused I like the plant idea, or good smellies.

Helpwithdaughterpls · 10/12/2022 09:18

Fail to see how knowing her sex is helpful, women are a diverse group. I would hate candies, scarfs, smellies or other assorted consumerist shit.

Why are you buying a gift for someone who you know so little about?

If she's literate, a book token is suitable for most adults.

How is a scarf consumerist shit? Do socialists not get cold necks?

SheWoreYellow · 10/12/2022 10:59

You could get lovely earrings for £20 if you wanted, maybe try Etsy.

What do you know about her?

SheWoreYellow · 10/12/2022 11:00

If you don’t know her well, thinking about it, I’d go for food and drink. At least you use it up.

mincepiepie · 10/12/2022 11:09

I'd like :
a bottle of chambord or cassis and a bottle Prosecco. To make kir royale

a real wool scarf (tk maxx)

Or an orchid/ plant

Hotel chocolate

Needmorelego · 10/12/2022 11:09

Do you literally know nothing about her?
I am female and I would want a £20 Lego set 🤣
What age? Where do they live?

CoffeeChocolateWine · 10/12/2022 12:28

I like the suggestions of slippers or a nice pair of gloves. Personally, a nice bottle of wine, prosecco, gin or Baileys would always be well received. Good quality hand cream also. No to a smellies gift set...nothing says 'I don't know what to buy you' more than smellies gift set or a scarf.
