Well @Tirrrrred I'd have been having a very long conversation about her snooping to start with, she is ten and so no excuse she has gone out snooping deliberately. By the time she'd listened to my thoughts on that she'd be hoping I wasn't about to start on about ingratitude tbh. I'd then have dismissed her telling her that I was disappointed that she felt it acceptable to go snooping and that she should consider herself fortunate that you weren't returning the lot to the shop.

Full of the Christmas spirit I see 🙄

Scout2016 · 09/12/2022 16:24

@JingleMingle Frilly Lily do some matching doll and child outfits. Sizing is very huge think a lot are machine washable. We had a butterfly set and many toys have been dressed up in it.

Martinisarebetterdirty · 09/12/2022 16:25

I’d have done the same as @hiredandsqueak , in fact mine know if they snoop and find things they then don’t get that gift for Christmas. The surprise and anticipation is Christmas spirit.
10 is a difficult age @Tirrrrred and gift piles do decrease. I’ve found a well placed fun cushion or big bag or marshmallows or popcorn helps bulk it out quite well.

Threeboysandadog · 09/12/2022 16:50

@Tirrrrred does she have an Oodie type thing. There seem to be quite a few around at good prices. I got mine from 5poundstuff (although they have run out at the moment) and they fill half the sack on there own.

Freeekedout · 09/12/2022 16:59

I'm wondering if anyone has found a good alternative to SG? I've had a quick look online but others seen v v expensive. This would be perfect for DSis and her partner!

oatmilkisntsobad · 09/12/2022 17:09

Can anyone recommend some decent shower steamers that aren't too pricey? Thanks!

SpottyBumPony · 09/12/2022 17:09

Thanks for the Spode recommendations, in the end I ordered the 12 piece set direct from spode with free postage and a free biscuit tray for £90

Moltenpink · 09/12/2022 17:14

Liberty have 30% off some of their Christmas gifts. The various pre filled stockings look lovely, still pricey for the contents (eg tea, shortbread, chocs for £35) but the fabrics are beautiful.

I ordered some last year from bubble & bathe- can buy on Etsy or via their own site. They were for gifts so I’m not sure what they were like but I had seen them recommended on here to begin with

Can anyone help with cheap bath bombs for kids that change the water colour? Apparently ds is no longer afraid of them (but remains fearful of bubbles....) I don't have a lush close by.

This company do the best bath bombs we've ever had for kids: https://olivetreehq.co.uk/shop/ - lots of fizzing with crazy colours and the bath turns a great shade, depending on the colours in the individual bath bomb.

dizzygirl1 · 09/12/2022 18:19

Where are the best hot chocolate bombs from? With nice chocolate not Kinnerton type 🤮

oatmilkisntsobad · 09/12/2022 18:20

Thanks @LostMyRubySlippers I've just bought the last 3 boxes they had - only needed 1 but got a bit carried away 😀

Not sure if this has already been posted but the hair milk from the last thread is £8.01 on Amazon. I finally cracked and bought it. 🐑🐑

This was me who originally stared it. I love the fact there are loads of MNers all swishing around with milkshake hair! I told my hairdresser yesterday- I've been buying it from him for 10 years- that he's started a thing!😅

Workyticket · 09/12/2022 18:30

Has anyone seen a de on Fifa23 for the xbox series x please?

Jfw82 · 09/12/2022 18:34

On the reminiscing DS is 6 this week and I first found these threads when I wandered over from the various pregnancy boards before he was born so my 7th year here and so much saved (and many a twitch too!)

On the bath bomb questjon - hooded owls do some nice bath rocks and bath dust if aim is colour or zimpli (on Amazon) so some hood kids ones - mine like the cloud/rainbow one

You literally saved my hair @Puffalicious

I was 100% on the verge of just shaving it off (currently shoulder length) because it was annoying me so much.

ChristmasCwtch · 09/12/2022 18:54

@Puffalicious do I need hair milk shake too? 😂 What does it smell of please?

Is it the spray in the yellow bottle on Amazon? 🐑

Bluezoo123 · 09/12/2022 19:01

Just bought the milkshake spray while twitching on a puzzle for dp (we normally do a 1000 piece puzzle every Christmas)
still waiting to hear back from SG re a refund - will contact my bank next week if don't hear back...

I joined these bargain threads nine years ago but I’m not sure if it was the first year they were going. If it was, next year is the bargain threads ten year anniversary 🥳🥳🥳 I can remember my youngest was only 2 and I managed to kit her out in gorgeous bargain pumpkin patch clothes off the back of the thread. I must’ve saved hundreds over the years on different things.

I cant remember if that was the first one or not, I know I got one of those robot things that only a few of us got and everyone else was in uproar because they were cancelling all the orders. It was really crappy toy too, my DD never played with it! Was it called gadget the robot??

GrinAndVomit · 09/12/2022 19:32

@Tirrrrred

Do you have this for her? I think it might go down very well with a 10 year old girl. I’d probably get her some felt tips and other craft bits too

No she didn't snoop the sacs are in the living room

Tirrrrred · 09/12/2022 19:35

@Thatsasmashingblouseyouvegoton

Last year I got the smores / hot chocolate sets from BNM sober so much on sweets. They all got left. I'm thinking a board game. Thanks for the suggestions.

Yep I got her a hoodie last year from next. It's massive so should be ok until next Christmas I think. I was tempted to get her one but resisted lol

Yep they both had one last Christmas. Not even touched them. I would have loved one of those.
