Headphones for electric guitar amp

DP, after much pressing about what he would like, has mentioned headphones for his electric guitar amp.

Other than googling, which brings up a range from £20 - £££££, I have no clue what I should be looking for.

Could anyone comment what to look for, on decent makes etc.

I’d phone a specialist guitar shop and ask, ours was happy to chat on the phone for 15 min about the merits of different kid guitars, I don’t think Mumsnet is gonna have too much wisdom on this. Hope am wrong though!

Budget, op?

I think you’ll need to steer clear of Bluetooth headphones as they have latency (delay). Fine for listening to music but no good for playing guitar live.

Main quality brands are Senheisser and Beyerdynamic. There are others but those are most common for musician or studio.

These look good if you don’t want to spend too much. Argos link

Around the £100 mark you have these. They’re more or less the recoding studio standard now and will last many years.

Thanks!

I was thinking upto £100, but have no idea on what £20, £50, £100 would buy.
I was talking to ds about it while we were eating, and he said he'd go and ask the music department at college (he doesn't do music).
Thanks for those links, I'll have a look.
