Ideas to make cheap tree look better

Hi, I bought a £30 tree in Argos. It looks ok but what can I do to make it look a bit better.

Also if you have a hallway with no stairs what do you do to make it Christmassy. It's quite big. Not much left in the budget probably £50 max

You could get some matte green tinsel that could make it look a bit ‘fuller’ before you put your decorations on. I think B&Q have one!

Yes or any tinsel really if you like tinsel. I always think the main thing with christmas trees is nice lights, warm white or rainbow colours. Then your decorations, if you don't already have any or need some new ones I'd get metallic ones so the light bounces off them - for basics silver and gold plain baubles and then as many nice individual glass baubles as you can afford.
If you can find a nice tree skirt for a good price this could help too, unless you already have something to cover up the bottom of the tree. We got a nice red velvet one with grey fur from Matalan last year.
