His main gift from Zavvi was given to RM 3 days ago, no movement since

Should I rebuy elsewhere?

I’ve never bought from them but it’s only 3rd December. If there is no movement in another 3-5 working days then follow up. There is postal strikes so many parcels will be delayed.

Joyfuljolly · 03/12/2022 17:06

You’ve another 3 weeks, so eh yeah I think it will

SavingKitten · 03/12/2022 17:07

22 days until Christmas still, I wouldn’t panic yet

Applecottagetree · 03/12/2022 17:08

You do know xmas is on the 25th? I haven't even bought any gifts yet.

RandomMess · 03/12/2022 17:09

Should be fine but the strikes and staff shortages are causing notable delays

softpilllow · 03/12/2022 17:09

Why would you rebuy something because RM have had it for 3 days? Surely you would just wait for them to deliver it?

softpilllow · 03/12/2022 17:10

3 days ago they were on strike, and the day after!

piedbeauty · 03/12/2022 17:10

It should be fine!!

This week I had 15 parcels delivered in one day. Some had taken two weeks to arrive but some only a few days.

And I got a letter today that was posted on 29 Nov, so I wouldn't panic yet.

LetterWoe · 03/12/2022 17:43

I'm asking because in my hobby we post live animals next day delivery, guaranteed by 1pm.

And they are currwntly take ONE WEEK to arrive.

So I figured something 2nd class has very little chance with the backlog and the upcoming strike days.

What? You post live animals???

user175438765 · 03/12/2022 19:19

I bought something from eBay on Tuesday and it arrived today

MammaWeasel · 03/12/2022 19:20

Insects- type animals ?

user175438765 · 03/12/2022 19:23

You'll probably get it with the next week or so, Christmas is three weeks away

QuietOne121 · 03/12/2022 19:45

It’ll be fine. It’s because of the postal strikes during what is the busiest time of the year. I had a 24 hour tracked parcel posted on Tuesday only got it today.

Second class will be next week at some point, perhaps start of following week with the strike days.
But there’s 3 weeks to go.

millerpie · 03/12/2022 19:52

It’s been three days, business days? strikes were Wednesday and Thursday last week and no post moved as well as the backlog from the two strike days over Black Friday. You’ve not given it even slightly long enough.

N0va · 03/12/2022 19:54

I posted something second class Tuesday and they received it today. I wouldn't worry yet!

The longest wait i had was a week. I have a feeling they are collecting it all up and doing a big delivery all in one go as I got 6 parcels all in one go

LetterWoe · 03/12/2022 20:38

It's inverts. They literally have no clue they're being posted, they're in a protected container. They have heatpacks in winter and are usually only in postal 24 hours. Tkhersbzero issues. They're not puppies. They don't have the awareness to be bothered by it.

He’s an adult I assume he can cope if his present is late. DS had to wait for his main birthday present once due to issues with postage, think he was 8 he coped. Also had to cancel his birthday party another year due to snow and his party was in a rural area which no-one could get to. Again he coped

KangarooKenny · 03/12/2022 21:58

My parcel finally arrived today.
