Twenty first birthday/Christmas present ideas

My son turned twenty one a few weeks ago. Unfortunately his dad is seriously ill in hospital and we weren't really able to celebrate at all, just ended up giving him some vouchers. His dad is still in hospital but we'd love to get our son something a bit more special for Christmas. Any ideas?

A new phone.
An Apple Watch, or a fitness tracker.
Tickets to the theatre, or a sporting event.

What are his interests?
