Gift delivery to EU

Struggling with this. Budget of £50 and want to send something to a friend in Germany. Ideally a bottle of something and chocs or a small hamper or bath stuff set.
F&M and John Lewis and loads of other places no longer deliver to the Eu.

Space NK do but everything on the site is so pricey.

All I can find otherwise is slightly duff looking independent hamper cos I have not heard of.

Help!

Can you not order from a German website?

BlackLambAndGreyFalcon · 30/11/2022 22:30

Order from amazon.de?

WorkinMumsince4ever · 30/11/2022 22:40

That’s a very good question. I personally wouldn’t send chocs to Germany, they produce really good chocolate.
I’d send something traditional like sweets or shortbread. Perhaps stores in Norther Ireland can ship to the EU without difficulties?
Another option is to polish your German skills and buy a gift from a local department store like Kauhof?
Receiving a card from abroad is also a nice event. :-) (in case everything else has gone wrong)

I can but would need suggestions as to which company. Something akin to JL or a gift type retailer like Oliver Bonas?

Next also deliver from their German website:
www.next.de/de

ACJane · 30/11/2022 22:58

Oh you stars, M&S or Next will be perfect!

Glad it helped!
I know shipping gifts from UK to EU countries now is a blooming palaver, isn't it?

Order from amazon.de?

I'd do this. I use Amazon UK when buying gifts for friends in England.

Asiama · 30/11/2022 23:19

If you do send a parcel to Germany from the UK then please make sure the gift is worth less than €45, otherwise the recipient will need to be pay charges. One of the benefits of Brexit!

ACJane · 30/11/2022 23:36

Have found MoltonBrown's German site and it has free delivery although prices seem rather higher than here!
Will probably go with that.

Easier to purchase from German stores as has been suggested. I do this for my parents since Brexit happened. Places like KaDeWe, Otto, Karstadt, Kaufhof or even edeka do hampers. Edeka and Rewe even have British options if you were looking for food items.
