Hanging large baubles on something other than a tree

I have 6 large beautiful baubles that are remaining in their boxes as I can never see what to do with them. I thought of getting a smaller tree, but the space between the branches didn't seem large enough to hang them.

Any ideas as to how to display them?

No idea about your house or style but I live in a victorian house that has "chandeliers" and I have hung baubles off of them-so pretty.

You could also put them on ribbons and hang in your window.

Have a look at pinterest-lots of fab ideas.

How big are they?

Instead of hanging them, I love to place big baubles into the tree- resting on the branches towards the trunk. Gives a lovely feeling of depth to the decor.

Ribbons dangling down at various heights. Either along a window or in a bundle together. Use drawing pins that match the surface you’re pinning onto.

They are 18cm

You could also just put them in a pretty bowl and display.

Add some fairy lights for sparkle

We were in a bar last night where they had beautiful huge baubles hanging from the ceiling. Looked fab, was debating with my DH where we could do that at home

Go to your nearest garden centre and have a look at their displays, you'll have loads of inspiration

I have big beautiful baubles hanging from velvet ribbons of varying lengths from the mantlepiece and from the cuphooks on the dresser ( i also decorate both with foliage, candles, copper wire fairy lights etc) the only down side is that they attract the cat to bat them with a naughty paw!

I hang a branch across the windows in my living room and dining room (from command hooks) and hang baubles from them.

I tried to find a picture - you can kind of us see in background here

I hang mine from the ceiling in a group above the dining table

BeaLola · 28/11/2022 02:21

I hang from light in dining room - it's a minimalist upturned sort of chandelier

I have also strung down bannister , from a curtain pole across a window at different lengths and from a mantelpiece either with gold string or velvet ribbon - looks very effective

Last year I used them with the ribbon and did 3 at different lengths on each curtain tie back in lounge

Beebumble2 · 28/11/2022 07:42

If you’ve got curtain poles, as in the above picture, you could hang them with ribbon on the pole finials at each end. I have done this, it’s very effective.

I had some large baubles from ikea and strung them together leaving a gap between each one and then hung them over an internal door.

Ohdearnotagain76 · 28/11/2022 08:03

In around your door or on a branch bush outside?

Sleepyteach · 28/11/2022 08:06

My mum has a branch, she found it one Christmas about 30 years ago, brought it home and painted it white and used cotton (so it’s almost invisible and looks like it’s floating) to hang it from cup hooks over the dining room table, the fancy baubles go on that it her house.

We have beautiful large glass baubles and we hang them on lovely ribbon in the windows. They are one of my favourite decorations! DH bought them for me about 15 years ago and each year I cherish taking them out and hanging them up. They definitely bring us joy each year.

We used these really sticky plastic hooks and stuck them above the kitchen window with clear fishing line, it looks lovely and thank God the sticky hooks haven't let us down 😂
