Just been to Asda and they had Lego Supermarket reduced down to £35 - it said was £55 but no idea if that was an inflated price as tbh never seen it before. They had loads randomly stacked on edges of aisles.

Also……. Shloer and Schweppes tonic water/bitter lemons were 3 for £3 instead of 1.70 a bottle - thought it was worth a mention whilst posting anyway

snowmanshoes · 28/11/2022 12:14

Lego City supermarket that should say

I'm looking for some womens pyjamas but the recipient is quite specific! She's 60-something, likes being warm so wants a long sleeve top and ideally brushed cotton bottoms, but doesn't want the shirt style with buttons down the front. My budget is £20-25 max, but less would be great. I've had a look in Joules, White Stuff and M&S and not found anything suitable yet, so thought I'd ask for your collective bargain-hunting wisdom, please and thank you 😊

Try the supermarkets, asda had some nice fleecy ones this year.

Does anyone have a recommendation for ordering presents to people in Australia? I’ve used David Jones department store website in the past but looking for others that might be better value. I need a gift for two young boys and their mum. Thanks in advance for any tips!

Click and collect is disabled on the symths website.. would anyone know if this has something to do with an upcoming voucher event? This has happened in the past with their 10 off 50.

Oh wise ones...I'm stuck and would welcome any ideas for a lady in her early sixties please. She lives at home with her elderly mum and requires some help with day to day living (she's never lived independently or worked). She's quite a simple soul and doesn't like fussiness. I've bought toiletries, chocolates, stationery and candles in the past but am completely stuck this year. I don't think she'd welcome clothing and I've never seen her use a handbag.

Jigsaw puzzles, wordsearch puzzle books. vouchers for an afternoon tea somewhere local. brownies or biscuits through the post?

I seem to be about to get kittens..... anyone seen any deals on cat towers etc? I know not Christmas and definitely could have done with knowing before I spent lots on the kids!

Take a look at zooplus. Their xl cat barrel scratch houses are amazing, bit pricy but they double up as a cat bed/house, they are sturdy enough that they get used and they last years. If you buy smaller towers, the cats can’t get a full height stretch on them, and they tend to move, which is when some cats then gravitate to scratching the sofa or door frame. Zooplus is also good for food and litter deals and they have a loyalty program and often send out emails with discount codes.

OdeToAutumn · 28/11/2022 12:44

This may have been mentioned but Asda have the tubs of celebrations, heroes, roses etc on offer 2 for £7 at the moment

Moltenpink · 28/11/2022 12:49

Clinique Box

Buy two, code BEAUTYBOX gives £10 off each one, plus there’s a free gift. So £50 for 3 good sets

What about www.bigw.com.au/ depending on recipients postcode?

I've bought for my nieces before and used Amazon Australia and Kmart (beware of postage costs on kmart though) and allow extra time for delivery as things seem to take ages. My nieces are only little though so mainly toys etc and obviously not gift wrapped

@dizzygirl1 I've just bought a cat tree from Viking Direct. I shopped around and they were a really good price, free delivery and it was delivered quickly. The one i got is really sturdy and the kitten loves it.

3isthemajicnumber · 28/11/2022 13:05

Another one hunting the grail that is discount off converse. ALLIN says it's expired on asos. Has anyone got another?

@dizzygirl1 - go secondhand for everything. People are always getting rid of cat toys, towers and kit for peanuts on local FB selling groups, marketplace, eBay etc

They will either ignore or shred anything you buy, no point in anything new. Favourite toy will be string or something precious belonging to you; favourite scratching post will be the sofa (better) or your leg (worse); favourite bed will be a cardboard box of some sort. Cats are contrary and the more you spend the more likely they will be to ignore it.

villamariavintrapp · 28/11/2022 13:14

@dizzygirl1 Aldi's special buys this week are for pets I think, might be worth a look.

CoffeeAndEnnui · 28/11/2022 13:25

I didn't know you could buy from Avon without using a rep (this might not be news to anyone else!) and am delighted to have found some bargains. I was in search of little bauble-shaped bath products for a shoe box appeal and DD's Christmas Eve box and found these lovely little festive bubble baths on the Avon site. There's an extra 20% off today with BF2022 which brought the baubles down to £1.20 and the gingerbread products that crept into my basket to under £1 each.

Threeboysandadog · 28/11/2022 13:27

Up to 70% off Yoshi

I gave everyone Yoshi last year and it was all well received.

CoffeeAndEnnui · 28/11/2022 13:30

*Just discovered that the discount works on the £10 bundles they offer on the sidebar too. It took a festive one down to £8. It included both the festive bubble bath baubles, three gingerbread products and three other shea body care products. Great for splitting!

imnottoofussed · 28/11/2022 13:34

Converse themselves have 30% off I believe

Otherwise secret sales has some as does the hut

Babynumberthreeee · 28/11/2022 13:36

@FeltCarrot you can get gingerbread syrup that you then add to normal lattes.

BeaLola · 28/11/2022 13:42

@FeltCarrot my local TK Maxx tends to have good offers on syrups & usually a wide selection

I concur with this!! We just ordered a Bluey playset and Lego set for niece and nephew. I always like it ordered by the end of Nov as we got caught out one year and the presents arrived after Christmas. I have used Amazon AU in the past but it didn’t have a very good selection this year. We have used Big W, David Jones, Target and Amazon in the past. This year we used Kmart but I wouldn’t use them again as they refunded for the Lego but then we had to reorder and pay a second time for postage. My DH disputed it but they were v unhelpful. Our family are in a small
town without a local
toyshop but if your family are in a bigger city you could also Google smaller independent toy stores who might offer really good service. We used a local chocolate company a few years ago when my SiL turned 40 and they made a beautiful bespoke hamper for her. She was thrilled.

Dreamingofwalden · 28/11/2022 13:44

That was for @NWnature 😊
