@Blessedbethefruitz might be worth giving their customer centre a call? service.mattel.com/uk/ContactUs.aspx

Blessedbethefruitz · 02/12/2022 18:31

@Flubadubba Thanks, that would not even have occurred to me! Will do on Monday!

Flubadubba · 02/12/2022 18:37

@DeeofDenmark Even Black Friday felt subdued. Has made a lot of my shopping harder as I normally spot a bargain and think 'ooohhh...xxxx would like that!'

Thatsasmashingblouseyouvegoton · 02/12/2022 19:06

Tbh I did a lot of shopping/planning in the August sales
I got my youngest some amazing beauty bargains!
I buy a lot from etsy and if you put things in your basket sellers/shops send you a discount 😉
I'm glad I did as I've not seen much on black Friday

MammaRoly · 02/12/2022 19:17

Finally gave in and asked my best friend what her DD age nearly 14 would like for Christmas as not girly, sporty etc. Friend has suggested sketch pads and fine line black pens. Any recommendations oh wise ones?

RainbowPhilosophy · 02/12/2022 19:18

@Reastie early warning for a new thread soon 😊

Theimpossiblegirl · 02/12/2022 19:44

Dd wants a shark airwrap so I waited for black Friday but no deals. Then I thought Boots, so at least I'd get points but it's oos.
Any ideas on how to get one for a discount price?

IggyAce · 02/12/2022 19:47

My husband has informed me that he bagged 2 bars of the Cadbury’s chocolate, he’s a good egg.
My pjs from Night arrived today & I love them so thanks for the recommendation.

Theimpossiblegirl · 02/12/2022 19:54

Sorry flexstyle
Airwrap knock off

sherbertdibdab · 02/12/2022 20:42

Have you looked at scrawlr box for art things? They had some nice sets including sketch pads and fine liners down to £5.

sherbertdibdab · 02/12/2022 20:42

Sorry that was a reply to @MammaRoly

mummyof2boys30 · 02/12/2022 20:50

Heated throw recommendations for a man who is starting chemo. Been warned will feel the cold a lot more. We had actually bought tickets for a show as his present but don't think he will be well enough as it's bang in the middle of treatment

animalcrossingfan2021 · 02/12/2022 21:08

Still time to do the Tiktok referral to earn £17 of Amazon vouchers. The offer finishes on 9th December.
New customers only, quick and easy way to earn £17 you just need to check in on Tiktok for 7 days to receive your award.
I have added my referral to the referral board.

Scout2016 · 02/12/2022 21:26

@MammaRoly Staedtler pigment liners are good. Nice strongs flip lid packs with differing mm of nib.

Itsfridaynightok · 02/12/2022 21:26

Those of you that use topcashback can you please tell me when the money changes from pending ? Thanks

animalcrossingfan2021 · 02/12/2022 21:29

@Itsfridaynightok

It varies depending on the retailer. Some can take months, I have some from August still pending.

Whyisitsodifficult · 02/12/2022 21:30

What are you buying your 16 year olds!? My DS doesn’t seem to have many ideas! Likes football but not into any one team, quite a young 16 year old, does play on his Xbox. I’m stumped!

tabbycat985 · 02/12/2022 21:46

You're so right @Flubadubba My best bargains this year were definitely found in the January sales & there's only so much you can guess about what someone might want in 11 months time😅

@Whyisitsodifficult Would he enjoy an experience day like touring a football stadium or cinema vouchers, rather than things?

funnycactus · 02/12/2022 21:59

Any makeup recommendations for a tween? She is wants 'proper' makeup rather than the stuff aimed at kids in Claire's. I know Revolution is good and a decent price but checking if anyone has seen any bargains!

IggyAce · 02/12/2022 22:02

@funnycactus Morphe is a decent brand my teen dd loves the mascara and eyeshadow pallets. They usually have offers.

Thelifeofawife · 02/12/2022 22:03

@Whyisitsodifficult My DS is having the following (some he’s specifically asked for, some as a surprise)
Airpods
Oodie (he got that early)
Trainers
Hotel chocolat velvetiser
Chilly bottle (He raves about this)
Aftershave (Boots have some good offers on)
PJ’s
Clothes (He picked a few under armour t-shirts)

Also he’s done a driving experience day which he enjoyed.
And I may get him a voucher for Nando’s/Greggs

How about a new controller for his Xbox?

Confusedmeanderings · 02/12/2022 22:05

Hi @mummyof2boys30 I can't help with the heated throw recommendations, but you might be OK with the tickets. I had chemo earlier this year and I found that I was fine for the First couple of days of the cycle, felt rubbish for the next 10 days and then was fine for the next 9 days. Of course, everyone is different and it depends how long the cycles are and which drugs they are being given. My lovely sister in law gave me a lovely present last year which I found so useful. She put together a hospital bag for me. She put in some knitted hats, woolly socks, a notepad and pen, a couple of books, some puzzle books, some cristallised ginger, some lemon and ginger tea bags, 4 or 5 lip balms, Aveeno moisturiser, an eye mask, a journal, a travel mug, some Costa vouchers (our hospital has a branch of Costa) and a game for my Nintendo DS.

IDontDrinkTea · 02/12/2022 22:08

Flubadubba · 02/12/2022 16:30

Anyone else feeling that there are fewer bargains out there than in previous years?

Definitely. I feel I’ve definitely ‘twitched’ less often this year, there’s been very little at a price that’s tempting to buy unless I was planning on getting it anyway!

ConsuelaHammock · 02/12/2022 22:08

VIP25 takes 25% off a Kuddly . Works for just one bringing it down to £36 with free delivery.

gawditswindy · 02/12/2022 22:18

My concern is that I'm going to be in physical shops over the next couple of weeks so it'll be harder to resist when I see things.
