Does anyone have a good recipe? Last time I made them they were too soft and their bodies fell off their heads when they were hanging up.

This gingerbread men CLAY, not edible dough, is foolproof.

Genuinely not being snarky but aren't there tons of recipes, edible or otherwise, online? Fair enough to want a recommendation that has proved successful though.

Edible gingerbread is fine, but I ended up with a load of sad little heads on my tree when I tried before, so clearly that recipe was no good. Maybe clay is the answer.

THIS is the recipe you need!
Simple, tasty and pretty straightforward. The dough doesn’t look like it will come together when first made, but it does!
Poke a hole using a straw before baking and put string through when cool!

So sorry but I'm loving the image of all these poor little gingerbread heads hanging gruesomely on the Christmas tree!

I wonder if a lighter more spongy recipe may work better than a standard cookie. Otherwise I'd try making gingerbread clay so you still get the fragrance but it's more sturdy.

i used to use the Nigella one when my children were small. It always worked and can take icing too.

I used to make them to sell and always used Peggy Porschen recipe, chill as it says , that is important too

If you wanted to take a shortcut - Tesco do mini gingerbread men (about an inch) in their Lebkuchen range. You could stick strings on them with Dr Oetker baking glue.
