Who deserves something nice, and her family usually don't bother :(
The problem is that I can't choose food, anything cosmetic or soap etc related due to allergies. She is very very stylish and in her 50's.

What's your budget? And does she have any hobbies? 😊

Fivemoreminutes1 · 25/11/2022 20:27

Spa vouchers
Potted rose bush - www.countrygardenroses.co.uk/shop/78-Friendship/
Emma Bridgwater teapot
Cashmere scarf/gloves/socks
Afternoon tea
New purse

elephantcandle · 26/11/2022 11:22

Sadly food, body treatments, cosmetics etc are all out.
I think maybe £150-£200 budget?

A lovely bracelet, or earrings.

paintitallover · 26/11/2022 12:09

Gardening? Books? 100% Cashmere scarf? A nice kitchen item?

Withholdingvitalinfo · 26/11/2022 12:11

A really big F off candle from a luxury brand like Diptyque

babasaclover · 26/11/2022 12:18

Kindles and Alexas?

getoutof · 26/11/2022 12:23

I'd buy a few things, candle, a nice wine glass or something, pyjamas, handbag, books,

Dingalingo · 26/11/2022 12:38

Lovely pyjamas would be nice - Desmond and Dempsey or white company?

FTM2022SS · 26/11/2022 13:26

If you know her size a nice jumper from somewhere like Mint Velvet would be nice and maybe a Jo Malone candle it she like scents that are not on her skin? I think for £150/200 you could always get a beautiful piece of classic jewelry? A small diamond necklace or earrings too!

I am younger (30) but do pine after some white company Pyjamas too haha.

Hope you find something beautiful!

BloodyMabel · 26/11/2022 13:34

Theatre tickets or a night away somewhere for you both?
Or find out what she can use and make her a nice hamper, I have allergies and really appreciated when someone did that for me as it’s a bit disappointing we miss out on all the nice girly gift sets.

Notcontent · 26/11/2022 13:40

If you know her well I would get a lovely jumper or bug scarf or something from a nice brand.

I would not buy a super expensive candle or similar as they are ultimately a bit of a waste of money…

Thatsasmashingblouseyouvegoton · 26/11/2022 13:43

Theatre voucher? Plus nice meal?

bag?

I read that as a very nice hand. Then another suggestion of a bag 😂 thank you for making me smile this Saturday.

BeaLola · 26/11/2022 14:54

Neom mini pod and oils

Bracelet

Silk or cashmere scarf/wrap

PeeJayDay · 26/11/2022 15:06

God not a cashmere scarf 🥱

What are her interests?

Kindthoughts · 26/11/2022 15:11

I love reading things like this. You both sound lovely.

I would say a trip to the theatre to see something she enjoys.
Maybe you could go together and make an occasion of it?

Maybe go clothes shopping beforehand and let her pick out an outfit or some accesories?

elephantcandle · 27/11/2022 09:23

Thanks so much for ideas!

A fresh flowers subscription?

FlouncingSaffron · 27/11/2022 19:18

She's clearly got an eye for style, so (if London geographically doable for her) what about also including tickets to the V&A's Chanel exhibition next year?
www.vam.ac.uk/exhibitions/gabrielle-chanel-fashion-manifesto

Or visit any of these with her:
www.ldnfashion.com/features/fashion-museums-london/
(Free entry and 50% off special exhibitions with an Art Pass, btw)
www.artfund.org/national-art-pass

A year's worth of aesthetic inspiration for her!

stimpy1 · 27/11/2022 19:21

My friend made me a sunshine hamper for my birthday with a lovely postcard about me being the sunshine and then everything was gold or yellow. I was very touched by it x

MammaWeasel · 27/11/2022 19:22

Some wrist or hand warmers from turtle doves. Or a lovely blanket from there.

FearofQueefing · 28/11/2022 07:45

Personally I think luxury candles are a complete waste of money.

Tickets for a nice day out would be lovely - a spa day, a concert or afternoon tea somewhere lovely.

If she's very stylish, then a nice bag - something classic like Radley will always be a winner.
