Turkey breast in slow cooker?

I am not going to have much time to cook Christmas dinner for 3 this year and instead of waiting an hour or so for a 1kg turkey breast to roast in the oven can it go in the slow cooker whilst I go out and then when I get back I can take it out to rest while the roasties, pigs in blankets, stuffing etc are in the oven?
Has anyone tried this please?

I haven't done turkey in the slow cooker but last Christmas I did beef in there and it was lovely, so tender. What you could do is put it in the slow cooker whilst you're out and then finish it off in the oven if you want the skin to go golden and crispy.

Slow cookers are not really suitable for lean meat - it'll work, but it won't be as good. They work best with fattier cuts - thigh for poultry, or shoulder for pork/lamb, etc.

That’s a shame, I thought it might be ok because I have cooked a whole chicken once and it was beautiful

One year my mums oven broke on Xmas eve, this equalled a Turkey breast done in the slow cooker and gammon boiled on the hob. The Turkey was absolutely fine and no different to being done in the oven to be honest.

I do chicken in the slow cooker all the time.

Layer of veg beneath the meat (carrots, onion, mushrooms for me), garlic and herbs and 1 cup of good stock. It will be very lovely and you will have amazing gravy too.

Tesco do a turkey thigh joint which is excellent in the slow cooker.
