‘Traditional’ chocolate advent calendar

When I was very little we only had picture advent calendars, but then chocolate ones came out. The chocolate was in little shapes, eg cracker, Christmas pudding etc and there was a cute little picture on the inside of the door as well. you had to break though the foil to get to the chocolate!

the last few advent calendars I have bought dc have been really disappointing, either no cute picture on the inside of the door or the chocolate is just chocolate shaped.

does anyone know where I can get what I am describing and which brand etc

The normal dairy milk ones have different shaped chocs, not sure about the pictures.

I know the traditional pictures are a little more hit an miss now (like the last paw patrol one just had random characters head pictures behind each door) but non of my 3 kids have ever had one that didnt have shaped chocolates.

Adult ones dont tend to have shaped chocolates though.

I'm looking for one of these too. A proper old fashioned Santa one with cheap chocolate for dh

I haven't bought one for the last few years - but Thorntons used to do ones like that?

We always get the £1.50 Dairy Milk ones from the supermarkets and the chocolates are definitely shaped liked a cracker, robin, snowman etc. and behind a foil. I’m not 100% sure about the picture inside the door, I have a feeling lately it’s been letters that make up a little phrase by the end.

As pp have said the most basic dairy milk one is the closest to this.

Thank you @Fivemoreminutes1 that isn’t quite it but quite close..I might order one of those

yes the dairy milk ones come closest, but I want the cute pictures not letters that make a phrase 😡 why does everything have to change 😭

I do remember having ds having a dairy milk one a couple of years ago. I just remember the picture being as exciting as the chocolate!

The Aldi ones tend to be like this. Nice choc as well for being so cheap.
