Literally can't find anything I would want to give anyone

Is it just me or is there just so much crap out there for presents for teens. Most of the people I buy for don't really want anything specific and the others seem to have everything I've thought of that might work for them.

When I look online and in the shops there's just nothing new and innovative, and anything out of the ordinary costs £££s. The stocking fillers are all the same as they've been for years and don't get me started on joke gifts.

Obviously I'm channeling the Grinch big time but there's absolutely nothing inspiring out there to buy.

i want to only buy things this year that are useful/consumable/needed. I'm thinking books/boardgames/new charging cables (cos we got through them like water) etc. Older 2 main present is laptops so not going to buy more presents to up the piles as they dont need 'stuff'. young DS is getting some lego and again not going to bulk out the pile with stuff for the sake of it.

I hear you loud and clear OP!

The whole present buying thing is making me increasingly uncomfortable and frustrated.

My in-laws and DH's siblings insist on spending lots of money on things that we don't need, and then supply us with a list of what they would like.

It all seems so pointless and a waste of money. I would much rather feel free to give a small, less costly and thoughtful gift – although even that is difficult because they really do all have everything they could possibly want or nee and have expensive taste..

I have spent ridiculous amounts of time trying to think up lovely presents for them, eventually reaching the conclusion that I'm looking for the holy grail.

An experience? An escape room as a family would be awesome - you could book a local one in for a few days after Christmas. Or similarly a comedy show or theatre show. Print the details and put into an envelope.

I love the present indicative site too.

I agree OP - I looked through the Boots 3 for 2 Xmas gifts online and it was so so expensive and total crap, and their app! Words fail me it was awful.
