Just as the title says really, my son doesn't play with toys so really struggling.

He LOVES football, his Christmas list was 'A robot who will always play football with me' but I don't think that's been invented yet 😂

Kit my ASD nephew loves collecting international kits

Swingball football, get it in Argos, my phone isn't letting me link

Stadium tour

Match tickets, my kids love going to our local club, third division I think, family friendly, not too overwhelming. Their dads PL club can be a bit too much including the travel.

Books
Stomp Rocket
Basketball hoop with stand (just in case he might like another type of ball game)
Scooter/bike
Tickets for a stadium tour or local match
Lego
Tickets or season pass to a local attraction

Galt marble run? Toy, but not a toy.
Foldable football goal?
How about a machine that shoots a football out. Am sure these may exist (like the tennis ones(, but no idea what would be called or how much they would be!@

I don’t know if you’ve seen but b&m actually sells robots that play football!

User1704 · 23/11/2022 17:45

maybe not exactly what he was describing but probably the closest you’ll get

Thanks all for replying!

He has a marble run and is bored of it! 🙄 he's got the usual basketball hoop, scooter etc.

Thanks for the robot football link! Definitely going to get him that!

International kits are a good idea too, he's got the PSG so I'll look for some more.

I'm going to get him a mini fridge for his bedroom for juice and yoghurts as well which I think he will like!

What about a rebounder for the garden- its like a springy net that rebounds the ball when they are playing alone in the garden.

Has he got the World Cup football? My boys collect the football cards- a good stocking filler.

Lego do some football players (thing FC barcelona.

A kicker ball is also good

My 5yo is the same. He saw this the other day and wants it though! I’m The Range

Is he bored of the marble run because he's exhausted the possibilities? If so Gravitrax may fit the bill.

My ASD DD isn't much into toys either. At that age she got a lot of science experiment kits and encyclopedias. Also a Botley coding robot.

Does he need to be on the go all the time? I've recently bought myself a wobble board and DD (now 8yo) is on it constantly. Or something else sensory? A weighted blanket or those strips of colour changing LED lights for his room?

My 5 nearly 6-year-old is the same! He doesn't play with toys - this year we have got him a rocket launcher nerf gun and a laser tag set (he is obsessed with guns), a magic set, an arcade crazy golf thing (TK Max) and then lots of little bits such as a word game (scrabble type thing), xbox games etc x

My DS has just turned 5, is very active and doesn't play with toys that much. He'll settle to Duplo/Lego (prefers duplo blocks but lego people) and likes to cuddle with a plushie but beyond that it's very much sensory or active play. This year I got him a balance board (those big curved slabs of wood you can rock on and do all sorts with as he never sits still!), some stepping stones, massive tub of kinetic sand and sparkly play dough as his main gifts. I was also considering getting him a tent and may still do if it can be delivered in time when I next get paid!

If he already has most things football related, I wouldn't worry about making everything he gets football, maybe get stuff that's not toys that he would love Smile

Dreamwhisper · 30/11/2022 17:01

Also a mini fridge sounds awesome! I definitely want to get my DD one next year

BringOnAutumn · 30/11/2022 17:06

Football rebounder net?

Soozikinzii · 30/11/2022 17:23

I give my DGC just some little stocking fillers -mini torches - character electric toothbrushes, little booksand colouring stuff and a postcard each I've had printed from etsy saying 1 activity of their choice from Nana and Grandad which they seem to like . They've had forest school , cricket summer club and jujitsu so far !

mam0918 · 30/11/2022 18:24

My DS was into football from 8 onwards... one year I just went on hist favorite teams store and bought LOADS of stuff (even a team stocking).

Its awkward hitting the stage where they no longer like toys.

Its only a small think but those Smelly Balls with the coil keychain to clip to your belt is a hit with all my kids even my oldest football loving teen and usually only a few pound.

Wickerblanketbasket · 30/11/2022 23:31

Would he like a mystery football kit? There are a few websites that do them, you tell them the size and they send you a shirt - could be from any team in the world. You can usually specify the team you Don't want so you won't get your rival teams shirt.
