Hello, just desperate for a break, it’s been quite a year. Not much if a budget but would love to go somewhere a bit more exciting than Britain for a few days. I’m wondering if anyone has any recommendations. I look on Ryan air trev l zoo etc and am confused beyond belief! It probably won’t happen but just maybe we could nip off somewhere?Thank you.

We have had a lovely holiday in Tenerife at that time of year. This time we are also looking at Sicily, Malta and Barcelona.

If you can get to Spain around 6th Jan it's "kings day" loads of fiestas going on particularly the big cities , Barcelona, Madrid etc. It's not warm in Spain then though!

And Nye isn't a big thing in Spain if that's what you were after. They just eat 12 grapes at midnight ;)

Thanks ! Barcelona, Tenerife, Madrid, in fact all sound nice. Now I’m going to ask..how do you find a cheapo but nice hotel? Or do you do hostels?
Do you just look on booking.com? Sorry to be so wet, haven’t been away abroad in yonks. Forgotten how!

We are going to Malta, it won't be boiling but will be decent enough weather wise and it wasn't expensive at all.

Try Lapland! Not commercial Santa village but an Airbnb or hotel somewhere surrounded by snow. Husky rides, snow shoeing, skiing, sauna. Peaceful bliss

Ooh Lapland, wow.
