Hi, just like the title really. When do u think its OK to start wearing Christmas jumpers. We'e got Christmas meals and meet ups booked from the 2nd Dec. Wondering if that's to early to wear a Christmas jumper. My 7 month old ds has allot of Christmas outfits for all the meet ups so would like to match him. Ta x

I think December is the perfect time.

Icedlatteplease · 22/11/2022 10:26

December. Unless it's something like Christmas lights in November then you can wear them in November too

ThatGirlInACountrySong · 22/11/2022 10:28

December is acceptable! Or on any early visits to Christmassy things

HuntingHappiness · 22/11/2022 10:29

Mid December

December for kids is completely fine! I've got quite a stash of Christmas clothes bought in sales or charity shops etc so can't wait to get the kids in them!

Pascha · 22/11/2022 10:31

Adults? December.

Babies are exempt and as long as its cute you can start now. In fact I strongly encourage you to get the most out of all the outfits you have stashed as they will be outgrown next year.

Break them out OP 🙂. I don't believe there is a. Single grinch in this world that begrudges a baby dressed as a Christmas pudding or elf.

Mid December

For adults anytl time in December unless you're attending christmassy stuff in November then feel free to chuck on a Christmas jumper.

For kids, anytime you like. Toddler DS has been wearing them sporadically over the year. Might as well get good use out of therm before they no longer fit.

Thanks, I can't wait to start putting him in Christmas outfits. He has a mickey santa outfit which is adorable and a lovely elf costume I got while pregnant with him. I'm taking him to see santa Sunday so might put him in something Christmassy then, I'm hoping he's not gonna cry at santa.

1st of December in our house. However dc1 has already worn a christmas jumper twice this month (a Christmas fete and because he wanted to).

PeekAtYou · 22/11/2022 11:28

1st December is fine imo

GettingStuffed · 22/11/2022 11:43

1st Dec, although I'm tempted to wear my gremlins one this week

mam0918 · 22/11/2022 12:50

I suppose it depends what it is... any time after advent seems fine to me which is the 27th.

If its general wintery things (snowflakes, deer head, sayings like 'let it snow', snowman etc...) then longer but specific xmas things (santa, presents, rudolf, turkey with 'lets get stuffed' etc...) then really they have a limited use time any time before say the last week of november or after the 6th january is going to look crazy.

My jumpers are mostly all just purple for advent, 1 is made of glittery wool but I can wear them all year round if needed - I dont see the point in me keeping a jumper with Santa on all year to wear for just 1 month.

Lottieskeeper · 22/11/2022 12:50

Any day after Halloween in this house.
I'm not a Christmas fanatic but if the kids are feeling festive I let them enjoy it and get a bit of wear out of Christmas jumpers.

I'm in my 'Christmas' jumper right now. It's not wildly Christmasy. Its grey with sparkly silver stars on it but I only wear it between Halloween and my husbands birthday on the 3rd of January. Funny how these little traditions develop.

Hoppinggreen · 22/11/2022 12:51

If you must 24th to 26th December only

Icedlatteplease · 22/11/2022 13:04

Actually DS15 with SN wore his stitch santa Christmas hat through to about April last year until his carer hid it. Made him happy

reluctantbrit · 22/11/2022 13:15

As an adult - only if you do something Christmassy

Children - whenever the thing is not in the wash

Christmaseveagonyaunt · 22/11/2022 13:26

Never. But I hate Xmas anyway

Justhereforthechristmasthreads · 22/11/2022 13:34

I can wear them for work from Dec 1st so that is what I will be doing 😀

JaneJeffer · 22/11/2022 14:25

1st December

Minesril · 23/11/2022 06:02

I wear my Nightmare before Christmas jumper any time from Halloween onwards.

Roselilly36 · 23/11/2022 07:00

Whenever you like OP, the baby will outgrow them quickly, love a baby in an Xmas outfit

EveryLittleWish · 23/11/2022 07:20

Definitely December 1st! I plan on wearing my Christmas jumpers from December onwards . I have a good collection of them haha!

Dinoteeth · 23/11/2022 07:23

I used to think 1st December but if folk are putting trees and stuff up now maybe now!

CalvesIncline · 23/11/2022 07:23

Mid November
