ds has really enjoyed the happy families series I read these to him. Also the ladybird read it yourself stories. DS can read level 1 but not yet level 2

Claude, 13 storey treehouse, Jill Tomlinson animal books (The penguin who, The cat who) etc.

They're probably still a bit tricky but my kids love the Mudpuddle Farm books by Michael Morpurgo and they're great to read aloud.

Freddie’s Amazing Bakery
Billy and the Mini Monsters
Shifty McGifty and Slippery Sam
The Cat and the King
Wigglesbottom Primary
Mr Majeika

The Cat and The King is great. Weirdly, my daughter loved the original Wombles book; the chapters are quite self-contained and the characters are really memorable.

Horrid Henry book set.

@Fivemoreminutes1 my girls (now 12 and 15) loved the Wigglesbottom primary books! Thank you

my class love the funnybones books, The Smeds and The Smoos, Supertato, Hot Dog but also Roald Dahl books.

WeirdPookah · 21/11/2022 13:32

Toto the Ninja Cat series

GettingStuffed · 21/11/2022 14:07

My grandson loves the supertato series and for a more "adult" style book stitch head, although he may already have it for wbd.
He also loves the Gigantosaurus books
