Gift ideas for a man in 70s

Can anyone share ideas with me?

I've just realised I need to get a small gift for dmil's new partner who'll be with us for Christmas. He's in his 70s, a really kind and lovely man, but I don't know him very well. I know they often do jigsaws together, but I'm not sure whether this is a love of his, or something he joins in because dmil likes them iyswim? I know he drinks red wine, so I suppose that's an option, but seems a bit uninspired. They go walking together sometimes.

I'd ideally like to spend around £20. Does anyone have any good ideas?

A nice set of cheese and chutney?

My Dad is in his 70s so taking inspiration from what I know he'd like...
Pair of leather gloves
Scarf
Warm walking socks
Whisky (if you can get a bottle on offer...might be tricky for £20)
Bottle of port
Wine
Books if you know what sort of thing he likes...my DF likes the Richard Osman books
Something gardening related - selection of spring bulbs, seed bomb, metal bird, bird feeder
Any interest in cooking? Spicery legend kit?
Charity gift - Oxfam Unwrapped
Nice pen set
Selection of different coffees or teas
Mini hamper of cheese, crackers and chutneys

Magazine subscription.
Book and a box of chocolates.
I think a cheese/crackers/chutney selection is a great idea, as suggested by rcat74.

Thank you! Some excellent ideas! Cheese/chutney selection sounds like a really good idea, I shall have a look for something!
