I have a lovely fill it your own advent calendar. Last year I filled it with socks, chocolate and cheap gem stones.

What fillers do you recommend that don't break the bank?

I make DD13 (& DS's 12 & 10) advent calendars & we sort of decide on a theme each year.

Last year they were make up, fidget toys & fossils/gemstones respectively.

I collect about 15-20 items that match the theme & then buy Christmas chocolates for the other days & mix them up.

This year the themes are Harry Potter, Pokemon & dinosaurs/bones.

DD's includes HP keyring, necklace x 2 (Deathly Hallows & Lightning Bolt), Hufflepuff socks, snitch fidget spinner, lego HP blindbag, other HP blindbag, HP scrunchie, HP pens & HP pencils. The other days are nail varnish, nail files, face mask, lip balm, bath bomb & chocolates.

I fill with mix of sweets, bobbles, tattoos, McFlurry after school voucher, stickers, keyrings, Xmas tree decoration, knickers, etc

I put vouchers in mine so they can buy their own Christmas snacks, cheap toys, chocolate and socks.

We've done them for years tend to pick a loose theme and go with it mixed with sweets or chocolate.
One year we did lip balms (ds1 uses them tons throughout the year) alternating days with sweets.
Last year it was biscuits, went to home bargains to get weird ones to mix in with favourites.
We've had crisps, pork scratchings, Lego figures, collector cards, lollipops, different bottles of pop, bubbles, novelty rubbers, Toy cars/planes

A lottery ticket (although I think you would have to claim any winnings as 13 year olds aren't meant to play!
A bath bomb.
Bottle of nail polish.
A £1 coin, or a £5 note, depending on how flush you are feeling!
A scrunchie, or hair slides/bobbles.
Stationery stuff eg post it notes, wasabi tape, highlighter pens, recycled pencils, etc. Have a look on Paperchase for ideas, but you could probably source most of it cheaper elsewhere.
A body spray.
Tube of Pringles.
Box of the limited edition Cadbury's chocolate fingers (half white, half milk chocolate).
Lip balm.
Key ring.
£5 gift card for Starbuck's/Costa etc.
Sachets of hot chocolate, maybe with marshmallows.
A mug.
