Baby Annabel or Our Generation dolls for 5 year old

My daughter has requested a doll plus high chair for Christmas. She has a few soft body/rag doll type dolls bought very cheaply from charity shops and I don’t mind spending a bit on a big dolly that will last her. I think she’d be quite into the clothes changes and accessories (can see both brands sell second hand on Vinted). Any recommendations for a 5 yr old?

If she wants doll plus high hair I’d automatically think baby doll not our generation. My 5yo plays with our generation but she has 2 older sisters and has played with them since a baby, but they are more for older play rather than babying them.

Ah ok thanks for that info. I haven’t actual seen either type of doll in person.

Yes Our Generation Dolls aren't 'baby dolls'.
My favourite is the Tiny Treasures from Argos.
Second favourite is Baby Born (although she is hard bodied).
Both types fit Early Baby size clothes. We buy a lot from Primark as the clothes are cheaper than the 'toy' ones.

My 5 yr old likes both equally and John Lewis also do the my generation type size for a fraction of the price.

What is good IMO about the my generation is that you can buy more interesting sets of clothes for them. They make all sorts (perhaps Annabel does too, but they seem more basic).

She also likes the long hair which can be styled, I don't think the baby ones have hair?
