Cheap Stocking Filler Ideas!

BabyofMine · 12/11/2022 08:47

I found I spent almost as much on small stocking presents as I did on main presents for my little one last year and I just can’t afford it this year!

When I was young we got basically the same thing in our stocking every year. I remember we always got a pencil set, and chocolate coins, but I’m drawing a blank on what else!

I thought about a fun toothbrush but didn’t know if that’s a bit mean 😂

Any ideas to bulk it out?!

Hi @BabyofMine Thanks for posting. I just wanted to pop in with the link to our best stocking fillers guide as you might find it useful. The article was created with the help of recommendations from Mumsnet users and consumer reviews. There's something for all ages and at a range of price points. Do let us know if you find it helpful.

I never buy "Stocking filler", I just put in whatever small presents DD gets anyway.

Lots of these things are the party bag version of Christmas in my opinion.

My wee ones then aged four, asked for their own mini sellotape and Blu-tac. They still talk about when Santa brought them blutac in their stockings!

@BabyofMine useful to use an app like ‘Santa’s Bag’ to keep track of ideas and buying.
I have 2 recipients for each child - one for main presents and one for stocking presents.
Helps keep a lid on overspending as lots of 50p/£1 here and there does soon add up. I pick up ideas and bargains during the year so the app means I don’t forget.

Omg, same with my two. I'll do it again this year because they're always stealing mine. Thanks for the reminder!
