What are you buying for your 12yo son?

I'd appreciate any ideas for this- for both normal presents and stocking ideas please.

He's into football mainly but has the games for PS4 and what not.

Thanks!

Voucher for a stadium tour?
My 10yo is tricky to buy for & we’ve got him one of these the last few years (for different clubs!!)
There is a board game called football billionaire, similar concept to monopoly, if this is something he might like?
Guessing there will be lots of merch coming out soon for the World Cup too…

Ragingoverlife · 05/11/2022 16:56

VR is a big hit with mine (boy 12) I'm getting him a mini fridge for his room x

Stocking. Mines pretty random. He likes random things like metal that melts in your hands 🙄

Strip lights? Electronic keyboard and mouse that light up if he has a pc etc

Ladyofthepeonies · 05/11/2022 16:58

I’m doing bath/shower bombs, always a Lindt maxi ball, mug, earphones, ooodie thing from Primark for stocking filler. New skullduggery book , Air up bottle Jurassic lego and a new laptop for mine craft,

Montague22 · 05/11/2022 16:58

Hover board with go kart attachment
Any hobby equipment
Headphones- eg wireless gaming or air pods
Different Ramen
American sweets

2reefsin30knots · 05/11/2022 17:11

Mine's having a boat but that is probably not helpful. 🤔

He will be getting some stocking fillers on the actual day probably including some of that blinking Prime drink if a) I can get some and b) it's not deeply uncool by then. He will have a couple of t-shirts and maybe some new sliders from Superdry. Then sour sweets and some chocolate.

desperatehousewife21 · 05/11/2022 17:20

I’ve been nagging mine to start a Xmas list and he still hasn’t, he’s gonna end up with nothing! (jk 😉)

However I was in Sainsbury with him the other day and there’s loads of stocking filler type bits for just a few quid that I’m going to go back and get. One thing I remember is a keychain of riddles. They also had a joke one too.

I saw the Guinness book of records in there too which I might get.

I’ve got him M&S pjs and fluffy bed socks.

He always gets an electric toothbrush in his stocking (just one of those £3 types from b&m)

Hes also got a Five Nights at Freddie’s advent calendar which he’ll obv get on the 1st but it’s part of his Xmas gifts as is pricey (£40ish from EMP if interested)

Am also the owner of a 12 year old boy and it was so much easier when they were younger! Luckily mine also loves football so most things I’ve picked up have been tied to his team /favourite players. He hasn’t asked for anything much and family are just giving him money. I keep a list of ideas on my phone which I’m updating as I go along / think of things:

Fortnite Anime pack for ps5
Real madrid football
Panini football stickers starter set and tin
Roblox voucher
Playstation voucher
Nike / Champion soft joggers (as requested, haven’t come across any yet to test softness!)
Football strips (England and Portugal)
Trainers (obviously)
Cr 7 dressing gown
Fanta mini fridge for his room
Real Madrid duvet set

Stocking (A cloth sack type one which I do try to keep functional ish)

Fanta lip balm
Neymar funko pop
Man U Lego brick head
Newest Wimpy Kid book
Costa cup
Selection box
Pokémon cards
Stranger Things swimming towel
PlayStation mouse mat
Man U bobble hat
Phone protector covers
Man U rainbow pen and pencil case
Silly phone case
Bath bomb cracker
Lynx set
CR7 socks and boxers
Football themed fluffy socks

Ds has his 12th birthday just before Christmas and he’s getting his first phone.
For Christmas he wants a steering wheel for his PS3 for playing car games.
For stocking he is getting stuff like his own towel (in the hope it won’t get left on bathroom floor) , led light strip, wash bag, Branded boxers (Bawbags 🤦‍♀️) and kit he needs for his sports

mam0918 · 05/11/2022 19:52

Mines a year older and the oddest stocking filler is a spoon that says 'cerial killer'.

For main gifts ines also getting a fridge for his room as his big gifts and band merch, fuggler, exploding kittens game, a scratch of poster, disco lights etc...

Last year he got a gaming keyboard/mouse set as his main and then ear buds, hangman game, velcro darts, gravity sticks, brain teaser games, a spud gun etc...

The biggest hit last year in the stocking was a gooey ball that splats when you throw it against the wall.

Dinoteeth · 06/11/2022 01:26

Mine will turn 12 just after Christmas so this is a mixed birthday/Christmas list

He wants a couple of Star Wars lego sets.
Needs a new phone
The illustrated Harry Potter book
Xbox game
I might nick the Wimpy Kids book idea from up thread
I was also thinking a Lynx set.
And maybe a football top

I'm still looking for ideas for him esp as I need birthday and Christmas ideas.

ErmNoThankYou · 06/11/2022 08:39

My son is 12 a week before Christmas so I'm double stumped.
Some great ideas upthread, I also got the sainsbury's key chain stocking fillers as they looked brilliant - I got the riddles and disgusting fact ones.
As for main gifts I have no idea and he's not been much help, he also wants the Prime drink but we managed to get a bottle this week so I'm hoping that now he's had it he won't want it for xmas as I can think of nothing worse than traipsing different Asdas for a drink.

Watching this thread with interest for more ideas 💡

FedUpWithBriiiiick · 06/11/2022 08:49

My 12 (nearly 13) yo is into music so he's getting an electric guitar as his main present. We've also got some LPs and a band T-shirt. Other than the inevitable Lynx gift set, I'm stumped!!

Last year we got him LED strip lights off the back of a thread like this, which were well received.

Following thread with interest.

I've bought my DS one too - an Under Armour one as he likes the brand. He was given a free one over the summer which he used to death but didn't last long so gone for a better quality one this time! Hopefully he'll appreciate it.

3WildOnes · 06/11/2022 19:03

I'm finding this the hardest age to buy for. My other two are younger and I have loads on their lists.

He has asked for a Chilly water bottle
A football shirt
Some new Shin pads
Goalie gloves
And lots of sweets

I'll also get him some new books
Lynx
Some branded clothes
Some pyjamas
A onesie
A new phone cover

I'm not sure what else

ColeslawSandwich · 06/11/2022 19:28

Can anyone give me ideas for a 12yo boy who only loves Rubik’s cubes. TIA

ColeslawSandwich · 06/11/2022 19:29

I should have said that he He has them in every shape and size.

girlsyearapart · 06/11/2022 19:37

i saw an advert for some kind of Rubiks challenge game the other day but I can’t remember what it was called

lynx sets in Tesco on a clubcard deal £3 for deo and shower gel

we played a game yesterday called Outsmarted which ds almost 11 really enjoyed

InvincibleInvisibility · 06/11/2022 19:52

Wow some of your lists are huge!

DS is 11. Apart from some bits and bobs he will be getting a large number of books for his kindle (he's just discovered Terry Pratchett so some of them and some Jonathan Stroud and Eric Hunter).

My parents are buying him a massive TRex (he adores dinosaurs)

Bits and bobs include:
New swimming goggles
Sweat wrist bands
Sweets
Pencil case
Jurassic world dominion DVD
Head torch
Roblox voucher

A small amount this year but he agrees there isn't much he wants. And I'm fed up of having too much stuff - I spent 18 months decluttering before our move last summer, no way am I filling the new house up with random things again.

We will do a day trip out as a family too for Christmas
