Christmas events for adults and children within a 10-15 mile radius of Loughton

Hi all,

I have been searching for Christmas events for 17th December and am struggling a bit. This would be for 4 adults and one toddler and the ideal scenario would be a Christmas market plus a Christmas experience for my toddler.

Would really appreciate any ideas, as I know events will start to get booked up really quickly!

Hampton Court Palace of Light was great last year and they’ve promised that this year it’s even bigger. I’ve just checked and there’s still availability for the 17th. There’s not much specifically for young children, but my LO was just mesmerised by the whole thing and then conked out in the pushchair!
I’d also recommend Lightopia at Crystal Palace.

I haven’t been for a few years but Van Hage’s at Great Amwell used to do a great circus and fab visit to Father Christmas.

my kids just loved wondering round looking at the decorations- maybe more for kids than adults?

Audley end? St Albans Xmas market? Hertford castle do events. Also there’s the Ongar train and some people have done a Santa boat ride somewhere but I can never be able to find it.
