I have ordered christmas dinner this year from sainsburys, I am picking up 24th December. Has anyone done this? I feel daft asking but is the turkey defrosted does anyone know, I'm not sure how it will come? Or how to store it until morning as my fridge is small and I have a ordered a 5kg turkey! Thank you in advance.

When I’ve ordered from them all the meat has been fresh. Could you keep the turkey in a cool-bag with ice around it (maybe outside) if you can’t fit it in your fridge?

When I went to collect it I had to go to a collection point in store and then had to take my order through the checkout - so make sure you’ve got a trolley or basket handy. This year I’ve booked the 24th too and I’m hoping that by then it’ll be calmer as it was carnage last time. Also double check what they are giving you as they did give me the wrong products and I only clocked it as I was walking away (luckily got it sorted before the getting to checkouts)

I’ve just reread my email from them and they’re going to send a deposit refund voucher (closer to time) that we need to present at the checkouts other wise we’ll be charged full price.

I've got some stuff from them. A turkey crown you cooked in the bag, some gravy and bread sauce and some pigs in blankets (was hosting meat eaters as a vegetarian so I did the rest). It was all lovely and well-received and really easy to collect. I chose a smaller local shop to collect from which was a really good idea on 24th. I think I put the turkey outside too.

It’s fresh OP, i’ve done it for a few years now and have again this year.

Always good quality stuff too.
