Partypoooooper · 03/11/2022 12:41

Looking for stocking fillers for DD really want things that will be helpful with the current economic climate, either keeping warm or just to keep busy when we're at home more in the winter than usual. She loves dolls and crafts particularly.

So far on my list

Blanket hoody
Underwear
Hot water bottle teddy thing
Lunch bottle for school

Any useful ideas greatly appreciated.

Fluffy socks
Hot chocolate tub, mini marshmallows
Mug cake recipes ( no need to put oven on, plenty for two to eat in one mug cake)

horseymum · 03/11/2022 12:45

Some fabric from cut up clothes or new from ebay etc plus sewing kit to make dolls clothes by hand.

PuttingDownRoots · 03/11/2022 12:47

I used to put in plasters. They always needed plasters.

PJ04JCW · 03/11/2022 12:50

Seconding cute toothbrushes and paste, we got toothfairy bags in stockings too one year, led nicely into believing they are in it together!

The Works has loads of small crafting kits, that would be a good place to browse for something relevant to her. Also great value box sets of books.

What on earth have you done there? Confused

thisplaceisweird · 03/11/2022 13:02

Battery powered candles or little lights for her room?
Fluffy socks or slippers
Those little handwarmer things that you click and then boil to reset - they always have them in primark usually disney themed ones

Primark is great for these kinds of things in general

stormelf · 03/11/2022 13:04

My five year old will be getting:

Socks
Underwear
Toothbrush
Toothpaste
Bubble bath
Shampoo
Hair brush
Hair clips/hair ties (these just magically disappear in the house)
Flannel

She will also get a few toys/craft bits from her Christmas list as she knows Father Christmas fills the stockings

Love pp idea for plasters, will definitely add that toy list

ReallyShouldBeDoingSomethingElse · 03/11/2022 13:16

Stocking for my 5.5yr old will be:

Socks (bright/colourful ones to wear at weekends, but NOT novelty socks)
Hairclips/bobbles
A bell and light for the scooter she's getting as main present
A couple of chapter books
A chocolate reindeer or similar
A filled pencil case to use for school homework
Winter hat
A new facecloth or 2
Plus something frivolous - probably a Yoyo or Top Trumps card game

Puppers · 03/11/2022 13:21

If she likes crafts, how about some fabric and a sewing kit? Or knitting stuff? Crochet?

caringcarer · 03/11/2022 13:43

Colouring by numbers.

PJ's

Handwriting pen

Paint your own piggy bank. Sends the right austerity message in child-friendly terms - we're all going to need to start looking after the pennies...

Child's grow your own vegetable kit. Get her out in the back garden sowing carrots and potatoes for next summer/autumn.

Price tag gun - kids love labelling things and she can practice pricing things up for if the shit really hits the fan and you need to sell off your belongings in a garage sale.

ChakaKhanfan · 03/11/2022 14:23

My 7 yr old will be getting some cross stitch sets from hobby craft.

I wasnt 'crafty' but was 'artsy' and I liked Blow pens when younger or how to draw books if those are any good.

reluctantbrit · 03/11/2022 18:13

Boardgames
Books
Audiobooks
Children baking book and some equipment + apron
Something for her room? Fairy lights, alarm clock
