DCs and several of their pals are recent first time buyers and are strapped for cash. Weekly nights out in the pubs and clubs are now restricted to special occasions, so they take it in turns to host each other for nights in with shop bought pizza etc
One group loves playing games - our Cluedo, Monopoly, Pictionary, Articulate, Twister, Cards against humanity, appear to have been rehoused! I think the other groups probably would play too with the right game.
Most of their Christmas presents this year will be practical things for their houses. I’d like to buy each a game which they can swap with their siblings over the year.
I think they are usually groups of 4-6.

Any suggestions aimed at otherwise pub and club loving groups of young people?

Although I've just thought that one spends a lot of time as a couple - they have Othello, Yahtzee backgammon so ideas for them would be good too .

Thank you

Pandemic?? Other cooperative games available. Loads of great continental games which are a big improvement non monopoly etc. Carcassonne, oltre mare, ticket to ride, Alhambra. Most have alternative versions/ extensions so you never get bored.

Exploding Kittens card game, there is an over 18s version of it which is probably hilarious.

Second Telestrations

Settlers of Catan
Nusfjord
At the Gates of Lo Yang
King of Tokyo
Fluxx (our faves are Anatomy, Pirate and Wonderland)

Also card games like Prediction Whist (up to 7 players)
Consequences, MadLibs

You can play 3D Twister in pairs just with bits of paper. Chuck a load of body parts into a hat, and pair up. Someone reads out body parts and active pair have to enact until they can't/fall over, whereupon it's the next pair's go.
