Present relating to South of France (esp Montpelier)

Hi

Looking for some ideas for a Secret Santa gift.

I am buying for my FIL this year. He is 80 and is just out of hospital after a very serious health scare and is unlikely to travel again. Also currently has limited diet but that should hopefully be back to normal by Christmas.

He loves France but didn't get to travel there often with my MIL. I studied abroad and lived and worked in France for a year around about Montpelier. We talk about this a lot and he likes to go on Google maps to look around Montpelier etc

So, I would love to get him a Secret Santa gift relating to France, ideally Montpelier but can be more general than that. Any wonderful ideas?! We have a tiny SS budget as a lot of young family members are involved but happy to ignore that on this occasion (but less than £100)

When my Mum stopped travelling, even in the UK, where she'd always visit beautiful gardens. I bought her a DVD of some gardens and she loved it.

Would a DVD of that region of France work (assuming he has a DVD player).

Have a look on a tourist site for Montpellier to see what local souvenirs are. Then see if you can get something on a website or perhaps amazon.fr.

Can you do a little hamper of foods from France he may like to try? And wine if he drinks. Or just a little hamper of small gifts, some cheese, A book, a nice candle..

You can get photo blankets made, perhaps you could make one with photos of France/Montpellier/Maps on it.
