Best present for a pet lover

Hi,

I'm thinking of getting a personalised print of friends pet, dressed up as a king or regal and framing it. Pic attached

Before I commit though I wondered if anyone had a better idea? Thanks

Have a look on Yappy.com, they do loads of personalised pet gifts. I got a cushion from them last year for my mum, she loved it. Though this idea is fab 😁might do it myself!

Thanks!

I would hate the kind of thing in the OP honestly.
(But then I'm sure some people must like it!)

Floralnomad · 01/11/2022 18:58

Sorry op but I love my dog to bits and would happily have pictures of him everywhere but I’d hate the type of thing you’ve pictured ,

Ah it's not just me 😂

HuntingoftheSnark · 01/11/2022 19:07

It's a lovely sentiment but sorry, those are hideous. How about a mug with a favourite photograph on?

SantaScribe · 01/11/2022 19:25

If she hates it maybe she could hang it in the downstairs loo 🤣

Matching festive pj's?

mam0918 · 01/11/2022 19:28

Depends on the persons taste, Im a pet owner and wouldnt like this as they are quite gaurdy and tacky... a well done traditional portrait (more like this) would be more appreciated but then I dont really fill my house with pictures of my pets (hell I barely have any of the kids lol).

psuedocream3 · 01/11/2022 19:31

Yeah they can be hit or miss, I'd like them but I'm quirky like that, and I also do similar art work and portraits myself so maybe I'm more inclined.

My daughter has a dog and I got her some fancy pj's with the same breed on which are just lovely and I know she will love.

purser25 · 01/11/2022 19:36

A cushion is nice

MarmiteCoriander · 01/11/2022 19:46

Its such an individual thing. The pics of animals in coats etc is partly funny, but I'm not sure I'd hang it in my house- even with my own dog in it.

My puppy has been given numerous novelty outfits (PJ's and Christmas outfits mainly) by mainly older relatives. They get put on for 1 photo and never used again.

MIL bought herself a door mat which had generic pics of the dogs she has- she got to choose the breed and colours and wording on the mat.

There are signs you can get- again, if your friend would be into them. 'Warning- Janes poodle parlour inside,' 'Welcome to pug house', 'Warning- guard cocker on duty' etc

Depending on the breed, a puzzle might be more stimulating for the dog

If someone got me this I’d hang it in the bin. And I love my dog more than anything!

Openmouthinsertfood · 01/11/2022 19:49

I love them! I'd have them. Xmas Grin

SantaScribe · 01/11/2022 21:27

I think I'll have to just go for it and hope she's in the love it camp 😅

Mapanas · 01/11/2022 22:07

I saw on Etsy that they had mugs with a pic of the pet and owner.
Sounds a bit naff but actually looked really good!

NinkyNonkNausea · 02/11/2022 02:42

A really adorable outfit for the pet. Matching pet and owner pajamas even better. I would find either of these beyond thoughtful!

You no her we don’t.so for you to suggest it must mean you no she’d like it. So go for it.

SantaScribe · 02/11/2022 07:37

I honestly don't know if she would or wouldn't like it.

We have dogs, I had a pencil portrait done of them and it’s lovely.
The type of pictures you’ve posted are not something I would consider hanging in any room.
Personally I’d look at something like a crocheted pet key ring or a paw print one.

I love my dog to bits but I’d hate that sorry!

Magelica · 02/11/2022 09:25

There is an amazing Etsy shop owner who creates appliquéd portraits of your pet on a cushion: her name is Dune Chick (sorry, can't link but she's on FB and Insta too). I've given some cushions to friends and also had my own dogs immortalised in thread - they're beautiful.

coolpattern · 02/11/2022 09:31

I’d love it and have been browsing around for a good deal. Where are you getting it from?

mam0918 · 02/11/2022 15:37

SantaScribe · 02/11/2022 07:37

I honestly don't know if she would or wouldn't like it.

Why would you get someone something so personal that has a 50% of her hating?

It seem more about you wanting to buy it than her.

Your just wasting money and burdening her with tat, its especially odd when there are many far better and safer options.

A Hugo and Hudson puffa jacket for her dog .
