Eco Conscious Christmas Gifts?

We could do something like Toilet Twinning?
Buy a goat via Oxfam

Rapanui have ethical clothes.
I saw some nice T Shirts from the Marine Conservation Society

What other things could I consider?

In my case I'm buying for young adults who are trying to consume less.
I'm already buying some secondhand books.

maybe try looking up the Minimalist Mom on Youtube, she has some past 'gift idea' videos and tends to prefer charity, eco consious and minimal gifts.

Social Supermarket

This has some nice things, supports small companies making changes in their communities etc.

Could you maybe gift experiences rather than things?
I'm trying to do this where I can and have found either vouchers or a day out has gone down well (could be a meal, theme park, camping etc depending on the person).

Home made goodies? Jam, granola, chutney?
Clothes from charity shops - the big ones like Oxfam have a website.
Subscription to Ethical Consumer magazine, RSPB, PlantLife?

the company?they create those beach style bracelets.and each colour is co ordinated to saving a species or reef ,animal etc.so a blue one is for the turtles.

PokemonPasta · 01/11/2022 12:37

real seeds? they promote saving your own seeds rather than buying from them next year

I have an eco conscious person to buy for and they often give handmade gifts, so I'm thinking of painting them a portrait of her and her partner (I do art as a sidehustle). Failing that I expect I will make chutney as everyone loves the mary berry Christmas one I make and request it each year so I know it'll be appreciated.

I saw a great idea for gifting second hand books - make your own book subscription - 12 books wrapped and labelled with each month. I thought about putting a nice bookmark or postcard in each book too

@WeirdPookah
Thanks for the heads-up on Social Supermarket. What a great idea it is.

Rather fancy the repurposed sari gift-wrapping cloths!
