Help with young girls gifts!

Hi all, i asked for help last year and you were great so hoping you can help this year.

i have two female relatives to buy for and ordinarily I would be great buying for girls but there is quite a few restrictions that i need to try to work with - for various reasons that I can’t fairly disclose).

They are 8 and 10, the 10 year old is autistic and has an intellectual disability that means she is generally quite a bit younger in her ways, probably closer to age 6ish. They have no notable hobbies - they don’t seem to be ‘in’ to anything and they are very ‘busy’ - i always note they dont really have much focus for very long periods of time.

things I have to accomodate:

budget of £40-£45 each
either use-upable or smaller - space is at a premium unfortunately
must be fun - not clothes or vouchers
not an experience gift
would prefer it to be one item that fits the budget (to keep it even amongst other kids!)

i was considering something arts and crafts related as they do seem to enjoy artier things. One does love dogs too.

happy to hear all ideas!

thank you if you taken a look at my very specific and difficult request!

Hama Beads are great.

I would go for a massive tin of good quality pencils, plus a sketch pad and a watercolour pad and some brushes each, something like these which can also be used as watercolour pencils:
Faber-Castell - Colour Pencils - Metal Tin with Accessories - 48 pcs. (112448) amzn.eu/d/axjETii

My DD has these and loves them.

Vtech smart watch or camera
Dance mat
Roller skates
Coding Critters unicorn

I like this colouring books which you can design and colour outfits for your dogs.
(To be honest if they haven't asked for anything specific I would lower your budget. £45 is an awful lot to spend on "I hope they like this" stuff)

Thanks for the ideas, I’ll take a look - still open to anymore!

@Needmorelego thanks, budget is fixed - I know its a lot and I am lucky to be able to spend it.

My girls are 7 and 9 and some ideas I had for them that might fit the bill are: 3d pen, smart watch, slush puppy maker, bubble tea kit.

ITSSSSCHRISTMASSS · 01/11/2022 14:31

The Posca pens are a good idea, they are very popular right now. You can get some blanks to go with them, cup, T-shirt, canvas, canvas pads, trainers/pumps.

My DDs 10, 8 & 5 have a cheaper brand, they love them, they decorated all the windows for halloween with them.

There are lots of good “How to” drawing books on Amazon, anime, gatcha, body parts etc..,

Marble run?

Craft kits, loads around £5 and extra 20% with birthday club discount. Craft kits are great as they can be used over time instead of looked at and set aside all in one go. Also great when you need to keep them entertained for a short while.

I tell people to get my kids craft kits because we don't need anymore junk taking up space in our house that never gets used, craft kits always get used even if they bin it after they've used it - they've always enjoyed having an activity to do. Things I hate people buying as a parent is anything make-up related, fluffy toys, or cheap handbag type things

Do the presents need to be the same?

My 6 year old would love something like scruff a luvs, fuzzikins, Washimals etc not sure if an 8 year old would though as I'm not there yet. Other things my 6 year old likes is Hama beads, spirograph, sequin art but all are obviously quite a bit lower than your budget.
