What are you buying your 7 year old?

DD turns 7 just before Christmas and I’m stumped for present ideas this year! She’s at that awkward age where she isn’t playing with half of her old toys so I don’t want to give her a bunch of LOL dolls again. I want to get her a magic mixie? If that’s what they’re called! And she has some new clothes, shoes, dressing gown and cute accessories like headbands and bows.

Things for her room? Bean bag from big bertha or rucomfy. Throws, fluffy warm bedding, lights, desk/chair/ikea skadis pegboard board and art/writting/drawing supplies.
New scooter
Tablet
Gift cards for cinema/favourite places/favourite shop and pop them in a new purse
Bath bombs
Roller skates.
Anything lego
Cooking equipment or cooking kit
Kids camera that prints on thermal paper and scrap book kit, there's a camera on smyths that's more for older children, again I cant remember the name of the brand.

Someone on another thread mentioned a really cool company that send out slime potion making kit that looks really cool that seems popular.

That's the potion kit

Good ideas, thanks! I’ve got her a mermaid tail blanket thing from TK maxx, she has an iPad and roller skates but I love the camera/stationery/bath bomb ideas!

Lots & lots of Our Generation sets & a few dolls

PumpkinDart · 31/10/2022 14:26

Mine has asked for an electric keyboard and an Our Generation doll. Last year she had roller skates that she loves and a sewing machine amongst other bits.

LOL camera and watch
Onsie
Colouring stuff
Old fashioned wooden musical jewellery box
Curlimal
Barbie Annual
LOL calandar

I got her magic mixie last year. Honestly, don't waste your money. It was very exciting and special when we did the spell on Christmas Day, bit you're just left with an interactive toy you can get similar for much less...

So I’m almost spent up for her birthday and Christmas now, her main gifts are:

instax mini camera + bag
karaoke machine (god help me)
squishmallows + squishmallow bedding
an oodie + mermaid tail blanket

she’s getting little bits of jewellery, make up brushes (just for play), clothes, pjs + dressing gown, + I want to get some books and bath bombs.

any recommendations for books for a 7 year old? I’d really like to start getting her reading novels, Enid blyton, Jacqueline Wilson etc, but I’m not sure she’d be interested in them just yet.

My little girl is loving the Mummy Fairy and Me books by Sophie Kinsella, she’ll be 7 in April. I want to get her started on the Sophie books by Dick King Smith as I think she’ll enjoy them too

It was my daughters 7th birthday a couple of months ago - this was one of her favourite gifts

My Dd's just turned 8. She's similar, not playing with toys much and actually never hs. The exception being play mobil so I'm picking up a school I've found second hand. Then I'm getting her a baking kit with apron, kid safe knives, potato cutter, whisk, measuring spoons etc. And a cook book.

nightbulb · 13/11/2022 21:34

Ours is getting a laptop, not flashy one

caroleanboneparte · 14/11/2022 05:43

The new Julia Donaldson book
Avengers figures
A throw
New clothes/PJs
Bubble bath
Shampoo/ body wash
Chocolates
Lego
Fairy dust
Dream catcher

Robstersgirl · 14/11/2022 05:49

My son is getting lots of Lego, it’s always a hit around this age, he has loads already and loves it.

LostMyRubySlippers · 14/11/2022 06:15

For books try the worst witch series or isadora moon?
There is also a series called the naughtiest unicorn- my DD hasn’t read these but she did borrow one from the library recently & enjoyed that

WhenIgrowup42 · 14/11/2022 09:54

DD is 6.5 and is obsessed with baby dolls at the moment, so will be getting a new one, plus a doll carrier and sleeping bag.

She also loves making potions, so will be making up her own kit, with test tubes, conical flasks, pipettes, measuring spoons, little bottles of things like biodegradable glitter, beetroot powder, herbs, bath fizz powder and hessian bags of dried rose petals and lavender.

Also loves miraculous ladybug so a barbie sized doll and top trumps.

Sylvanian families husky family with triplets.

She also wants a joke book!
