Book for an elderly relative

I am looking for a good book to give to an elderly ish male relative who loves England and emigrated 50 years ago. Something nostalgic but not too rose tinted.

Can anyone help?

I bought my dad (82) Life of a Scilly Policeman.

It’s a bit nostalgic and full of funny anecdotes and tales from a policeman who moved to a small community. I saw the author interviewed on a TV show and he was very engaging.

Coffee table book of landscapes of England?
How about an annual for a comic he may have remembered (beano, dandy etc)
