My dgod daughter aged 6 asked whether there were staff shortages at the north pole..if Santa has enough elves, reindeer trainers and staff.
It is a real concern .
I think the military should be deployed..

Well not the military but at 6 they can understand that goods are limited due to Brexit, CV19, China and the war in Ukraine but Father Christmas will do his best

No, because surely the North Pole is in the EU zone where there is still freedom of movement so they can very easily recruit elves from any of the EU states.

😍 Your God-daughter sounds precious!!

Tell her Santa is a good boss. He always pays his elves a living wage and provides a nice working environment. So he's never short of staff....

Has she never heard of Christmas miracles?

During Covid I told my DDs 8 & 6 at the time that covid effected everyone, I wanted them to understand that it was just like having a cold but some people got sicker than others. When talking about lockdowns, shopping, travelling I explained why it was happening and that the rules were happening everywhere in the world even in the North Pole. This meant that the elf’s got sick to and had to isolate and that they couldn’t have too many elf’s working at once and that sometimes they couldn’t always get the materials they needed to make everything everyone wanted. Just like we couldn’t always get everything we wanted in the supermarkets at the time. But not to worry as Santa was still going to be able to deliver, he asked for help of parents and families, even Amazon to help him get the gifts out. And even though he might not be able to give every child something they wanted he would do his best to give them something.

We reduced our Santa lists from 4 to 2 items only this year, always with the understanding that Santa will always try but can’t promise to get exactly what’s on the list.

I think it helped that we all had covid early on so my DDs weren’t scared of it as they were very mildly effected so when I said the elf’s were getting sick too they weren’t to worried.

I love the idea of Santa being such a good boss.
