I've seen on another thread that, like me, alot of people are hoping for books for Christmas.

I just thought it would be interesting to see what books people are hoping to receive, and what books people are buying others as gifts?

So many. Mostly thrillers.

I'd recommend The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, though.

Tired and Tested by Sophie McCartney - I'd ask for more but I have a 1 year old and no time to sit and read 🤷‍♀️🤣

I have asked for The Almanac: A Seasonal Guide to 2023 by Lia Leendertz.

Never had one before, so something completely different.

17caterpillars1mouse · 25/10/2022 17:56

@Ihavedogs

I've been toying with putting that on my list too, also note something I've ever had before, but unsure if I'd actually use it and get much from it

I am hoping it is something I can dip in and out of and it may be of some use rather than just be something to read 🤞

@Ihavedogs @17caterpillars1mouse not a book obviously, but, Lia Leendertz has a podcast released on the 1st of each month

MissyB1 · 27/10/2022 16:22

The new Mary Berry book.
Miss Marple 12 new stories.

Ambertonix · 27/10/2022 17:42

My birthday was in Sept so i already received Marple and The Bullet That Missed which were both on my list. I notice that Waterstones have new editions of Agatha Christies Murder Of Roger Ackroyd and Mysterious Affair At Styles in the middle of November so i'll probably ask for one/both of these or a book voucher so i can get them for myself .

GettingStuffed · 27/10/2022 19:50

The new Robert Galbraith, the sequel to crescent city, the nursery rhyme books by Jasper Fforde. My missing Terry Pratchett books. I'm quite an eclectic reader so the main thing people have to do is check I don't already own it

dementedma · 27/10/2022 19:53

The History of the world in 100 Plants

Anthology of Mary Oliver poetry

Needmorelego · 27/10/2022 19:55

@17caterpillars1mouse why won't people buy them if you have them on your wish list? Books are one of the easiest things to get. If a book is in print then Waterstones can (usually) order it or there is Amazon obviously.
Me... I want the latest Jacqueline Wilson.
