Christmas activities in London SW

Hi

Can anyone recommend Christmas activities for family (8 year old child) in London, specifically in the area of the backyard cinema, which is SW18 please? We want to there for a Christmas film but want another fun Christmasy thing to do on the same day, I was ideally looking for a nice santas grotto experience but open to other activities too. We have to travel into London for it so need to make a day of it and do more than the cinema! Most things I've found online are the other parts of London and too much travelling for the same day, so needs to be fairly near the cinema.

Other magical things in the city maybe doable on another day!

Many thanks

It seems like there’s going to be a decent ice skating rink at Battersea Power Station www.standard.co.uk/news/london/ice-skating-rink-launch-battersea-power-station-christmas-b1029978.html

I was just about to say Battersea Power station!

They have announced an ice rink, although tickets aren’t on sale yet
In previous years, they’ve done quite a lot of other family things in the bit that was open. It would make sense that they do more this year now the whole thing is open

Or Kew isn’t too far away, if you want to do the light show

Wisley also have a great light display, depending on where you're coming from and whether you'll be driving/on the train.

There is a light show at the Wetland Centre which is close by. We went last year and it was really nice. It's not up there with the likes of Kew and Wisley but good for something local. It's called Illuminature.
